Postpone NEET PG 2022, else will surrender medical degrees, says doctors

After demanding on social media platforms, NEET PG 2022 aspirants have now written a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged them to postpone the exam which is scheduled to be held on May 21, 2022. The doctors have written in the letter that if the exam will not be postponed, they would be left with no choice but to surrender their medical degrees to the Government of India.

The NEET PG 2022 aspirants claim that there is not enough gap between the NEET PG 2021 Counselling and NEET PG 2022 exam as the counselling will end on May 3 with some states set to take up counselling post that, the NEET PG 2022 aspirants will not be left with enough time to prepare for the NEET PG 2022 exam if they do not secure a seat in the ongoing counselling for NEET-PG 2021.

NEET PG 2022: Excerpts from letter to PM, President

Following are some excerpts from the letter to PM and President:

"As per the policy of NMC, there needs to be sufficient gap between counselling of one session and next examination. But this year the all India Counselling will be over by May 3, 2022, and state counselling will start afterwards which might go till mid or may end. The examination is scheduled for May 21, just a few days after the completion of All India counselling. This stands unfair. NMC is adamant about not postponing the exam as they want to start the session by August. They can still do so even if the exam is postponed till July without affecting the academic session of 2022."

"There is no one showing empathy to Covid warriors in times of urgency."

NEET PG 2022 postponement demand on social media

Here are a few tweets:

"Pls don’t be in a hurry to cover one year of delay in one year itself. Buffer it over 2-3 years please"

"You asked us 100 days. Now are asking just 50-60 days for our future. I think it’s only fair. Please postpone it."

"In new India our life saviours are forced to write the letter by their blood to save their future. The way Modi Govt is ignoring their rational demand to postpone #NEETPG2022 is totally unacceptable. We demand @MoHFW_INDIA to #PostponeNEETpG."
