The Central government in 2020 had approved NEP 2020 in a high-level meeting chaired by PM Modi. NEP 2020 completely replaced National Policy on Education framed in 1986 bringing some new and fresh reforms.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation on the completion of one year of National Education Policy (NEP) implementation on July 29, 2021, at 4.30 pm. The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had announced the same on Monday, July 26, 2021. Prime Minister is likely to share detailed information on the steps that have been taken so far to implement NEP 2020. It is also expected that he will also give a glimpse of the projects in the pipeline for the next academic session. Earlier, while taking the charge of Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan has said that his focus will be on achieving the objectives of the new NEP in a time-bound manner.
In a tweet, Pradhan said the new education policy was a guiding philosophy for changing the learning landscape, making education holistic and building strong foundations for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
"The NEP, 2020, is a guiding philosophy for changing the learning landscape, making education holistic, and for building strong foundations for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. On 29th July, on the completion of one year of reforms under the NEP, PM Narendra Modi will address the nation," the Education Minister tweeted.

The event will also be attended by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with PM Narendra Modi.
