After the Punjab NEET 2021 counselling Round 1 concluded, out of a total of 2,600 MBBS and BDS seats, 1,390 seats remained vacant in 10 medical and 15 dental colleges in the state.

Vacant seat after Punjab NEET 2021 Counselling Round 1

The vacant seats of medical undergraduate courses including MBBS and BDS that remain after the Punjab NEET 2021 counselling Round 1 are 1,390 seats. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot is the conducting body for the Punjab NEET 2021 counselling and the total seats available for the Round 1 were 2,600 seats for MBBS and BDS courses.

Punjab NEET 2021 counselling was set to be held in two rounds if any seats remain in Round 1. Hence, now as the seats remained after Round 1 of counselling, Round 2 of Punjab NEET 2021 counselling is scheduled to be started from February 28. 

BFUHS has already asked the aspiring candidates to submit their willingness to participate in the Punjab NEET 2021 counselling Round 2.

Punjab NEET 2021 counselling Round 2 seat matrix

In Punjab, there are 1,475 MBBS seats in 10 medical colleges including 700 seats in four government medical colleges (GMCs). The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) holds counselling for 15% MBBS seats of GMCs and 85% are the state quota seats.

In 10 medical colleges including four GMCs, a total of 558 MBBS seats remain vacant.

29 of the 250 MBBS seats are vacant at GMC, Amritsar; 76 of 225 seats at GMC, Patiala; 31 of the 125 seats at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot; and 18 of 100 seats at Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali.

Other vacant seats are - 84 of 150 seats in SGRD Medical College, Amritsar, as many as 104 of 150 seats in Adesh Medical College, Bathinda, total 19 of 100 seats in DMC, Ludhiana; 28 of 75 seats in CMC, Ludhiana; 55 of 150 in PIMS, Jalandhar; and 54 of 150 in Gian Sagar Medical College.
