Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has cancelled the Level 2 exam of the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET) 2021 amid the alleged paper leak. While addressing the press conference, CM Gehlot announced that the REET Level 2 2021 exam will be conducted again and the Level 1 exam process will continue as scheduled. The announcement came in the wake of massive protests against the REET paper leak issue.

Earlier, Rajasthan Government sacked the chairman and secretaries of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) in connection with the REET 2021 question paper leak case.

As per the police investigation, the REET paper was leaked hours before the conduct of the exam. The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police alleged that the REET question paper 2021 was leaked from ‘Shiksha Sankul’, the campus that houses various offices of the state education departments.

The REET 2021 exam was held on September 26, 2021, in two shifts for Level 1 and Level 2. The REET result 2021 has already been declared by the RBSE for Levels 1 and 2. The REET certificate distribution began after the result declaration.

62,000 vacancies to be filled through REET exam

The Chief Minister also stated that the Government will now fill a total of 62,000 vacancies of teachers in the state schools through the REET Level 1 and Level 2 exam. The exam notification will be released soon.
