CCAAs Exempted from PET, One-Third Weightage of Marks to be given to NCVT exam

The Ministry of Railways has decided that the Course Completed Act Apprentice will be given due weightage for the marks obtained in the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT). Railways will give one-third weightage to the NCVT marks in preparation of RRB Group D final merit list after the conduct of CBT. The Course Completed Act Apprentices will be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test. Earlier, CCAAs had to appear for PET and the final merit list was prepared based on the marks obtained in CBT and PET subject to qualifying the document verification.

Earlier, on March 11, the Railway Ministry had issued an official notice stating that the CCAAs trained in the railway establishments will be given due weightage for the training done by them in Railways Establishments in preparation of the final merit list after the conduct of CBT for RRB Group D. However, the Ministry did not disclose the weightage of marks. In the latest notice, they have announced the weightage of marks to be given to NCVT exam.

What Official Notice Says?

The official notice issued regarding this reads, “20 per cent of reservation in RRB Group D exam is given to CCAAs. In line with the provision contained under section 22 of Apprentice Act, CCAAs trained in the railway establishments may be given due weightage for the same such that one-third of the mark in preparation of the final merit list after the conduct of CBT shall be based on the marks obtained in their NCVT exam. They shall, however, be eligible for empanelment only after document verification and qualifying the medical standards.”

“Such candidates will be exempted from PET since they are already trained in railway establishment and have gone through rigor working in Railways and have proved themselves in meeting the physical standard required for performing their jobs,” the notice further reads.
