RRB NTPC, Group D 2021 Live Updates: Decision on Exam Dates & Revised Result Announced

RRBs will select 20 times unique candidates for CBT 2 exam. Those who have qualified the exam as per the previous result will appear for CBT 2. RRBs will publish additional list of candidates.

RRB NTPC CBT 1 and RRB Group D CBT exam dates have been announced. The CBT 2 exam for pay level 6 will be held in May 2022. The CBT 2 exam for other pay levels will be conducted after giving a reasonable gap. RRB Group D CBT will be conducted in July 2022.

The important announcements made by RRBs for RRB NTPC and RRB Group D exams are given below:

• 20 times unique candidates will be shortlisted with Pay Level wise for 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) for CEN 01/2019 (NTPC).
• The candidates already announced qualified will continue to remain qualified.
• The list of additional candidates getting shortlisted will be notified at each Pay Level.
• RRB wise 2nd Stage CBT for each Pay Level with all candidates of one RRB accommodated in a single shift which should eliminate normalization. Wherever single shift is not possible because of capacity constraints or otherwise, percentile based normalization will be done.
• CEN RRC-01/2019 (Level-1) will be a single stage exam. There will be no second stage CBT.
• RRC wise CBT will be held for Level-1. Also maximum available capacity is recommended to be used, to significantly reduce the number of shifts involved for each RRC and to speed up the examination
  process.
• Percentile based normalization, which is simple and easy to understand, will be used wherever the number of shifts involved are more than one Medical standards as prescribed in Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) will be used for different posts of Level-1
• Any available Income and Asset Certificate for candidates, who have applied under Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), will be considered as Valid

Sushil Kumar Modi, Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, has written a letter to the Railway Minister regarding speeding up the recruitment process of RRB Group D and NTPC exams. He also asked the Railway Minister to announce its decision soon.

The subjects included in RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam are General Questions Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the exam are 120.

English is the default language. In case the candidate wishes to choose any other language, then the same can be selected from the drop down list of languages. The languages listed are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. In case of any difference/ discrepancy/dispute in the questions between English and the opted language, the content of the English version shall prevail. 

The details regarding RRB Group D 2021 exam city and exam centres will be released 10 days before the exam. Candidates can check the details related to the exam city and centres by logging with user ID and password.

As per reports, the Ministry of Railways will allow 20 times more candidates to appear for RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam. The Railway is expected to release a notification for Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts soon. 

A total of 1.15 crore applications have been received for RRB Group D exam against 1,03,769 vacancies.

 A total of 1,03,769 vacancies were announced to fill up various RRB Group D Level 1 posts, such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant, Pointsman. 

There will be negative marking for incorrect answers in CBTs. Deduction of 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question will be made for each wrong answer.

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) are expected to announce their decision on RRB NTPC and RRB Group D exams this week. The authority will announce its decision through official notice.

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) is conducted for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master posts. candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. The CBAT comprises questions and answers options only in English and Hindi. There is no negative marking in CBAT. 

Typing Skill Test is conducted for the posts of Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Junior Time Keeper. This stage is qualifying in nature. Candidates are required to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.

The category-wise qualifying marks for RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam is given below:

UR-40 per cent

EWS40 per cent

OBC (Non-creamy layer)-30 per cent

The CBT 2 exam will consist of four sections. The test will carry 120 questions and total marks allotted to CBT 2 are 120. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes.

There will be negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT. 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) vacancies have been announced for various posts such as Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways. 

RRB Group D exam pattern for CBT 1 is divided into four sections: General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The total duration of the test is 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied by the scribe). The test paper comprises a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions.

RRB NTPC exam pattern for the second stage CBT is such that it is divided into three sections-General Questions Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test carries a total of 120 questions. The duration of the test is 90 minutes (120 minutes is given to PwBD candidates).

RRB NTPC CBT 2 admit card and RRB Group D CBT 1 admit card 2022 will be released four days before the exam. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter the required login credentials.

There are two stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Skill Test (Computer based Aptitude Test for Station Master and Traffic Assistant, Typing Skill Test for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper). Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. For Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercialcum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, there are two stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination.

RRB NTPC and RRB Group D recruitment process got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The notifications for RRB NTPC and RRB Group D were released in 2019, however, the recruitment process is taking place in 2022.

The category-wise minimum qualifying marks are given below.

After the announcement of the RRB NTPC CBT 1 result, students alleged that only four to five times the number of vacancies students were shortlisted for CBT 2 exam. However, RRBs said that it has shortlisted candidates 20 times the number of vacancies. The result contained 7,05,446 roll numbers which is 20 times notified vacancies of 35281.

In 2015, candidates 10 times the notified were called for second stage CBT for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC). This was to ensure that the number is limited to the extent that the same can be managed in one or limited shifts to avoid extensive normalization as well as to ensure that adequate candidates are available for deciding the merit after initial screening is done through first stage CBT. Then the same was followed for Employment Notification (CEN) 02/2010 (for Graduates) and CEN 04/2010 (for 10+2) where candidates 10 times the vacancies were called for second stage CBT before increasing the same to 15 times for CEN 03/2015 (Graduates). For CEN 01/2019, candidates 20 times the number of vacancies are selected for second stage CBT.

RRBs are expected to publish the revised cutoff marks along with the result. Earlier, the cutoff marks were released along with the result for Level 2, 3, 4,5 and 6. Students also complained that the cutoffs were high.

Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has tweeted that high power committee has received three lakh grievances. The committee has analysed the grievances submitted by the candidates. In few days, Railway Recruitment Boards will announce its decision on RRB NTPC and RRB Group D exams.

According to reports, the Ministry of Railways will take decisions in favour of students. This means, the grievances submitted by students have been accepted by the Ministry of Railways and soon it will announce its decision on RRB NTPC CBT 1 revised result, RRB Group D CBT 1 exam dates, and RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam dates.

The revised result of RRB NTPC will be announced on the official websites of 21 RRBs. The steps to check the result are given below:

• Enter the login credentials
• The result appears on the screen
• Download the revised result

The CBT 2 exam was introduced in RRB Group D exam as the number of applicants is large. Candidates 15 times the number of vacancies will be called for CBT 2 exam based on the performance in CBT 1 exam.

The committee was formed to look into the concerns raised by the students related to alleged discrepancies in RRB NTPC result and the introduction of second stage CBT.

RRB NTPC aspirants are now asking the government to lift the ban and resume the recruitment process. Candidates took to social media seeking clarification from the Ministry of Railways on the RRB NTPC CBT 1 result as well as CBT 2 exam dates.

The Railway grievances committee has submitted its report to the Ministry of Railways. The committee has submitted its report after compiling the grievances lodged by the students till February 16.

According to media reports, the five-member high power committee is likely to announce its decision in favour of candidates. RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam dates and RRB Group D exam dates will be announced.

After the protest by the students regarding the RRB NTPC CBT result, the board had reconsider it. The board is expected to declare the revised result.
