NTA Revised Upper Age Limit for UGC NET December 2022 ; Check Details Here

UGC NET upper age limit has been revised by the NTA for applying as JRF on December 5, 2023. The candidates can check the details of the changes made by NTA on behalf of the UGC NET exam in the article.

NTA has revised the upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship on January 5, 2023. The UGC/NTA revised the dates to apply for JRF after considering the requests of the candidates to fix the upper age limit. The NTA has decided to determine the upper age limit of the candidates for the UGC NET December Cycle to be December 1, 2022 instead of February 2, 2023. UGC NET December cycle exam will be conducted from February 21 to March 10, 2023.  

Official NTA Notification for Age Limit 

“Few representations have been received from the candidates to fix the last date for calculating the age limit to apply for JRF. The NET Bureau of UGC (vide Letter No.4-1/2019(NET/NTA) dated 02 January 2023) has requested NTA to fix the upper age limit for applying for JRF as 01.12.2022 instead of 01.02.2023,” - NTA notification  

UGC NET/JRF Age Limit Important Points

• The candidate’s age should not be more than 30 years as of December 1, 2022 
• Relaxation of 5 years has been given to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Women/PwD/Third gender/Ex-Servicemen 
• A relaxation of 5 years is also given to research scholars based on the time period they have spent in research 
• A relaxation of 3 years has been given to LLM candidates 
• There is no upper age limit to apply for Assistant Professors
