The overall difficulty level of RRB Group D exam held across various shifts in all the phases of exams was easy to moderate. The Maths section was easy to moderate. The General Intelligence & Reasoning section was easy. Questions in the Science section were based on the basic concepts. The General Awareness section carried maximum questions from current affairs.

The test paper of RRB Group D comprises a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The General Science and Maths section carries 25 questions. The General Intelligence and Reasoning section carries 30 questions and General Awareness and Current Affairs carries 20 questions.

RRB Group D age limit is 18 to 33 years. The minimum education qualification for candidates applying to the technical departments is Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal & Telecom departments) and catering wing of Railways will be Class 10 pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by National Council for Vocational Training or Class 10 pass plus ITI.

RRBs have made changes in the selection process of RRB Group D exam. Transgender candidates will be given relaxation in PET standards as per female candidates. Earlier, their physical standards were judged as per male candidates.

RRBs had conducted the CBT exam in five phases. RRBs conducted RRB Group D 2022 Phase 1 exam from August 17 to 25 for RRC Hajipur, Secunderabad, Mumbai (Western Railway). The phase 2 exam was conducted from August 26 to September 8 for RRCs-North Central Railway (Allahabad), North Western Railway (Jaipur), South East Central Railway (Bilaspur), South Eastern Railway (Kolkata), and West Central Railway (Jabalpur). The Phase 3 exam was conducted from September 8 to 19 for RRCs-East Coast Railway (Bhubaneswar), Northeast Frontier Railway (Guwahati), Northern Railway (New Delhi), Southern Railway (Chennai). RRBs conducted RRB Group D Phase 4 2022 exam from September 19 to October 7 for Central Railway (Mumbai), Eastern Railway (Kolkata) and North Eastern Railway (Gorakhpur). The Phase 5 exam was conducted from October 6 and 11 for RRC South Western Railway (Hubli).
