Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the authorities to conduct the recruitment of 69,000 primary teachers within a week.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the authorities to conduct the recruitment of 69,000 primary teachers within a week. According to the reports, the Allahabad High Court on May 6 ordered the state government to recruits the 69,000 primary teachers in schools of the state.
While ordering the recruitment of the primary teachers in the state-run primary schools, the court favoured the government's decision to increase the cut-off marks 60-65 per cent. Allahabad HC also ordered that the state must complete the recruitment process within six months.
The exam authorities conducted the written exam for 69,000 teachers' recruitment on January 6, 2019. According to the sources, the results of the teachers’ recruitment examination will be out in the next week. For the recruitment of 69,000 teachers, the exam was conducted on January 6, 2019, but due to a dispute regarding the cut-off marks and the examination regulatory authority office could not release the final answer key in 11 months.
This is not the first time a court intervened in a recruitment process. In 2017, on July 25, the Supreme Court ordered the state government to cancel the recruitment of 1,37,517 teachers on the post of TET Assistant Teacher. However, the SC directed the state to give them the benefit of experience in two recruitments. Six months later, on January 17, 2018, an order for the assistant teachers' posts’ written examination was issued by the government.
It was the first time, the state government ordered to conduct a written examination for the assistant teachers' posts to hire 68,500 teachers. In the examination held on May 27, about 7200 Shiksha Mitras were able to qualify. All the qualified candidates got the opportunity of getting recruited for the 68,500 assistant teachers' posts.
