Phase-1 sees a 27% surge in international offers and significant growth in core industry placements.

IIT Kanpur concluded Phase-1 of the 2024-25 placement season with 1,109 job offers, including 28 international offers, marking a 27% increase in global opportunities compared to last year. Of these, 1,035 offers were accepted, showcasing the institute’s commitment to excellence in career outcomes for its students.

The placement drive, conducted from December 1 to 15, 2024, saw participation from over 250 companies spanning diverse industries. Prominent recruiters included Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Qualcomm, Intel, Texas Instruments, Meesho, Shiprocket, BPCL, NPCI, Databricks, Reliance, Meril Life, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, American Express, SLB, Micron, Cars24, and FedEx.

Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) made a notable impact, with BPCL emerging as a top recruiter in this category. The placements also recorded a significant uptick in roles within core industries, reflecting a growing interest among students in these sectors.

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, stated, “The significant number of offers, including international opportunities, reflects the quality training and global readiness of our students. I congratulate all the placed students and extend my best wishes to those preparing for Phase-2 placements. I also thank our recruiting partners for their trust and the Students' Placement Office for their dedication.”

Prof. Raju Kumar Gupta, Chairperson of the Students’ Placement Office, added, “The success of Phase-1 is a testament to the collective efforts of our students, recruiters, and the placement team. With substantial growth in international offers and core sector placements, we are optimistic about Phase-2, set to begin in mid-January 2025. We deeply appreciate the support of our recruiters and alumni.”

With a promising Phase-1 behind them, IIT Kanpur anticipates continued success in Phase-2, which will build on this momentum in the coming months.
