UPSC IAS 2024: The Union Public Service Commission has released the UPSC admit card 2024 for the Civil Service Prelims exam today. Along with the UPSC IAS e-admit card, the Commission has also published a detailed set of instructions for the candidates regarding the UPSC IAS exam day.
It is important that those who will be appearing for the exam carefully refer to and adhere to these instructions on the day of the UPSC IAS examination. As per the UPSC exam calendar, the CSE (IAS) prelims exam is scheduled to be held in June 16, 2024.
UPSC Exam Day Instructions 2024 For IAS Prelims Exam
Candidates can go through the below-mentioned UPSC IAS prelims exam instructions:
- They must check the UPSC e-admit card carefully and in case of discrepancies, contact the officials
- They must mention their name, roll number, registration ID and year of the exam in all the correspondence with the UPSC
- Candidates are required to bring their UPSC e-admit card, along with the original photo identity card whose number is specified on the admit card, to each examination session to gain entry to the centre. The UPSC IAS admit card must be kept safe until the final results of the Civil Services exam 2024 are announced
- Candidates should be aware that any omissions, mistakes, or discrepancies in encoding or filling in details on the OMR answer sheet, particularly regarding the roll number and test booklet series code will result in the rejection of the answer sheet.
- Entry to the exam hall will close 30 minutes before the scheduled start: 9 AM for the forenoon session and 2 PM for the afternoon session. No candidate will be allowed entry after these times
- Candidates are advised to enter the exam hall well in time for frisking
- They must read the "Special Instructions for Candidates Admitted to the Examination" found in the "Rules for the Examination" in the notice, as well as the "Poster" containing instructions displayed outside the centre
List of Prohibited Items at UPSC IAS Prelims Exam
- They must not possess or use any mobile phones, pagers, electronic equipment, programmable devices, storage media like pen drives, smartwatches, cameras, Bluetooth devices, or any other equipment or related accessories capable of being used as communication devices during the examination. Violation of these instructions will result in disciplinary action, including a ban from future exams
- Candidates are advised not to bring valuables, expensive items, or bags to the exam centre, as their safekeeping cannot be guaranteed. The Commission will not be responsible for any loss of such items
Other Important Guidelines for UPSC IAS Prelims Exam 2024
- Candidates are permitted to use normal or simple wristwatches inside the examination rooms/halls. However, watches equipped with special accessories or smartwatches that could serve as communication devices are strictly prohibited and must not be brought into the exam hall
- Only answers marked with a black ballpoint pen will be evaluated
- A candidate whose photograph on the UPSC e-Admit Card is unclear, or does not include their name and the date, must bring a photo identity card and two passport-size photographs (each labelled with their name and date) to the exam hall. One photograph is required for each session, along with an undertaking
- Candidates who have chosen to use their scribe should be aware that the scribe will only be permitted for the exam if they possess a separate e-admit card. These UPSC IAS admit card for personal scribes will be issued individually
