Delhi School EWS Admission 2025: The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has announced the commencement of online registrations for entry-level classes in private schools under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories starting February 2, 2025.

In a circular dated January 3, 2025, the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) outlined the admission guidelines for nursery, kindergarten (KG), and Class 1 under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section), DG (Disadvantaged Groups), and CWSN (Children with Special Needs) categories in the city's private unaided recognised schools.
The online application process for these entry-level admissions will begin on February 2, 2025, and the last date for submission of applications will be February 19, 2025. After the submission deadline, the first round of the computerized draw of lots to select the students will be held on March 3, 2025.
Age Criteria for Delhi School EWS Admission 2025
The age criteria for children under the EWS and DG categories have been defined as follows:
- Nursery: Age between 3 and 5 years (as of March 31, 2025)
- Kindergarten (KG): Age between 4 and 6 years
- Class 1: Age between 5 and 7 years
For Children with Special Needs (CWSN), the age limits are more flexible to ensure inclusivity:
- Nursery: Age between 3 and 7 years
- KG: Age between 4 and 8 years
- Class 1: Age between 5 and 9 years
These guidelines ensure that children from diverse backgrounds and needs have an opportunity to receive quality education in the city’s private schools.
Delhi School Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria for EWS, DG, and CWSN Categories
The EWS category is aimed at children from families earning less than ₹5 lakh annually. Families must provide an income certificate issued by the Revenue Department of Delhi. Families holding Below Poverty Line (BPL) or Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration cards are also eligible to apply for admission under the EWS category.
The DG category includes children from the following groups:
- Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC)
- Orphans, Transgender children, and children affected by HIV
For Children with Special Needs (CWSN), a government-issued disability certificate is required for the application. Importantly, no income certificate is needed for children in the CWSN category.

To apply for admissions under the EWS, DG, or CWSN categories, parents and guardians can visit the official website of the Delhi Directorate of Education. Here, they will find the application portal for submitting forms and required documents.
