UPSC will announce the new exam and notification dates after June 5. Read below for details

The UPSC held a special meeting on May 20, 2020 to review the situation arose because of the coronavirus pandemic. UPSC took notice of several restrictions extended in the Lockdown 4.0 and decided that it will not be possible to resume any UPSC examination and interviews in the present situation.

The UPSC will announce the new exam and notification dates after June 5. The UPSC notice will further delay the UPSC recruitment process of various UPSC exams. The candidates were waiting for the new dates for IAS Prelims 2020, NDA 1 exam 2020 and the IES main exam 2020. The UPSC has issued a notice stating all the exam dates including the reserve dates for the UPSC exams will be issued on June 5 after assessing the situation.

The UPSC need to announce the exam dates of the exams where the exam dates are already passed. In addition to that, the notification dates of various notifications such as UPSC CAPF exam 2020 and UPSC CMS exam 2020 was also postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The UPSC exam and notification dates are expected because of two reasons. Firstly, there are numerous candidates preparing for multiple exams. The candidates need to share their preparation time among different exams. So these exam dates are very important for those candidates to prepare their exam preparation strategy.

Secondly, it is more important for the UPSC to prioritise their efforts to conduct one exam at a time. All the UPSC exams are conducted across the nation and the present situation does not allow to conduct the exam because of the coronavirus pandemic. The number of corona positive cases are rising with alarming speed in the country and the Lockdown 4.0 is just started.
