SC issues notice to NBE over plea seeking NEET PG question paper, answer key release
SC has issued notice to NBE over a plea challenging its decision not to release an official question paper and answer key for NEET PG exam. Read to know more.
Supreme Court has issued notice to National Board of Examinations (NBE) over a plea regarding the release of question paper and answer key in NEET PG exam. While hearing the petition, the court has issued notice to NBE and asked it to reply.
The petition was filed by a candidate named Sushant Gangey who holds an MBBS degree. Gangey had appeared for NEET PG 2021 exam held in last September. The petitioner has urged the court to direct NBE to release question paper and answer key and also provide them an option to reevaluate them in case of discrepancy in the score.
In his plea through advocate Kaustubh Shukla, the petitioner said thousands of candidate face grave and serious problem due to arbitrary action of NBE for not releasing the question paper for NEET PG 2021 exam. The petitioner had also challenged the decision of NBE for not providing candidates an option of revaluation or rechecking, in case of discrepancy in their scores.
In the plea, candidates had also sought to declare Clause 9.7 and 10.4 of the NEET-PG Information Bulletin, 2021 as "unconstitutional". The court was requested to direct the establishment of a high powered committee to examine instances of alleged discrepancy been raised by thousands of candidates across the country to ensure fairness and transparency in the evaluation mechanism.
Meanwhile, the counselling round is on for NEET PG 2021. On February 4, NBE had decided to postpone NEET PG 2022 exam to May 21. Earlier the exam was scheduled to be held on March 12.
