Live Updates: CUET UG 2023 Exam City Slip (Postponed), CUET Admit Card Date & Test Centre

CUET UG 2023 exam will be conducted for a window of 10 days, from May 21 to May 31. The reserved dates of the exam are from June 1 to June 7.

Although there is no fee levied for utilising the CUET UG 2023 application correction facility, in case a candidate selects more subjects or universities or changes the category, it will lead to an additional fee. However, if a candidate reduces the subject choices or the category change leads to lowering of the fee, the excess amount will not be refunded by NTA. 

NTA received over 14,000 candidate requests to reopen the CUET UG 2023 application correction process. While some could not complete the payment process, others wanted to change their subject or university choices. NTA did not want anybody to miss the opportunity, hence providing the correction facility for two days. 

Candidates were allowed to select two cities as per their preference while filling the CUET UG 2023 application form. Last year, four cities could be selected. Moreover, the list of cities was restricted in and around the state of present and permanent address. 

The CUET UG 2023 admit card will be released three days prior to the actual date of the exam. Hence, the admit cards or the hall tickets will start releasing from May 18 onwards. Those candidates whose exam would be scheduled for May 21 will be able to download the CUET 2023 admit card from May 18. Similarly, for those who have their exam scheduled for May 26 can download the admit card May 23 onwards. 

Confirming the speculations, NTA has announced the reopening of the CUET UG 2023 application correction window from tomorrow onwards. The facility will be available till May 2. Citing the reason for this decision, NTA has stated, "There are about 14000 candidates whose applications are in draft as they could not confirm their changes through OTP. In order to ensure that these candidates should not be left out, it has been decided to open the window for updating (adding/removing/changing) their Test Papers and adding courses/universities for a period of two days i.e. from 01 to 02 May 2023."

NTA has officially announced that the CUET UG 2023 advance intimation of exam city slip has been postponed to May 14. Moreover, based on the student representations, NTA has decided to reopen the application correction window tomorrow, till May 2.

The delay in the release of CUET UG 2023 advance intimation of exam city slip has raised a faint hope among the students that NTA might be planning to reopen the application correction window. There has been a huge demand from the student community for another chance to make changes or corrections in the CUET UG 2023 application form. Moreover, NTA had reopened the application window but did not provide the correction facility for the second time, which has caused inconvenience to first time applicants who had filled the CUET UG 2023 forms in the second phase from April 9 to April 11. 

As per some sources, the CUET UG 2023 advance intimation of exam city slip is expected to be postponed to May 7. However, an official confirmation is still awaited by NTA. 

As per the media reports, the cause of the delay in the release of the CUET UG 2023 advance intimation of exam city slip is technical or server glitches. In case the exam authorities are able to fix the gltich, the document will be released by tonight. Otherwise, NTA will schedule another date for this. 

As per a report by The Indian Express, NTA will not release the CUET UG 2023 advance intimation of exam city slip today. The report has quoted a senior NTA official stating this, citing technical issues. However, there is no such information on the official website yet.

This year, St. Stephen's College, Delhi has decided to accept the CUET UG scores for the admission to its undergraduate courses. Last year, the college did not opt for the CUET UG scores for conducting the admission process.

According to the important dates and schedule for CUET UG 2023 announced by NTA, April 30, or today is the date of releasing the advance intimation of exam city slip. However, NTA might delay or postpone the release based on various factors such as incomplete exam centre allotment for all registered candidates, server issues, contemplation of reopening the CUET UG 2023 application correction window, etc. There has not been any announcement confirming the postponement of the release yet. Hence, so far it is likely that the advance intimation of exam city slip for CUET UG 2023 will be released by today evening. 

The CUET UG 2023 advance intimation of exam city slip will carry the city name where the exam centre will be located. Apart from that, it will also carry candidates' personal details, photograph and signature uploaded by them during the application process. NTA is expected to release the exam city allotment slip of CUET UG 2023 anytime soon. As per the schedule, the CUET UG 2023 exam city announcement will be made today by NTA. The General Test of CUET UG 2023 will consist of 60 questions out of which 50 questions have to be attempted. The types of questions or the areas are as follows:

• General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability
• Numerical Ability and Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/s tat taught till Grade 8)
• Logical Reasoning nd Analytical Reasonins

The Section 1 or the Language section of the CUET UG 2023 exam will consist of 50 questions in total out of which 40 questions have to be attempted. The questions will be in the form of Reading Comprehension. The types of passages are as follows:

• Factual
• Literary
• Narrative

The questions will test candidates' Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary. 

The total number of questions and the number of questions to be attempted in CUET UG 2023 exam will vary for each section. the ratio of the total number of questions and that to be attempted is given in the table below.

As mentioned before, CUET UG is a computer-based test consisting of multiple-choice questions from three sections. Detailed information about the CUET UG 2023 exam pattern is given in the table below.

The exact timing or the duration of the CUET UG 2023 exam will be announced in the admit card. Based on the last year's information, the slot-wise duration and timing are given below.

CUET UG 2023 will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT), or an online mode. Candidates will be able to view the question paper at one go and attempt any question or section at an order of their choice. There will not be any sectional break during the exam.

As per the CUET UG 2023 exam scheme, the medium of the question paper will be 13 languages including English. For Section 1 of the exam, candidates will have the choice of 20 Indian and foreign languages. As far as the domain-wise subjects are concerned, the number is 27. 

The marking scheme for CUET UG 2023 has been specified by NTA. The marking scheme for the exam is given below:

i. Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks ( 5)

ii. Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).

iii. Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).

iv. If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (5) will be awarded to only

v. those who have marked any of the correct options.

vi. If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question

It must be noted that there will be no negative marking scheme for the General Test or third section of the exam. 

The different sections and question types for CUET UG 2023 are given below:

Section IA&B: Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, (Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary).

Section II: The second section will be the Domain-Specific subject. The question type will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on NCERT Class 12 syllabus only.

Section III: The third section is the General Test. It is not a compulsory paper to attempt unless it is mandated with the domain subject. The questions will be on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/s tat taught till Grade 8), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.

CUET UG is the gateway to undergraduate courses in streams across Science, Humanities, Commerce, Law, Design, Business Administration, among others. 

The Central government has announced that it has decided to extend the exemption of Northeast states including Meghalaya from the admission process into the central universities in specific regions through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) by another year. The list of central universities in Northeastern regions that have been exempted includes Sikkim University, Rajiv Gandhi University, Manipur University, Assam University, Tezpur University, Nagaland University, Tripura University, Mizoram University, NEHU and HNGBU, Uttrakhand.

CUET UG 2023 scores will be accepted by over 200 universities across India. The universities are segregated into five categories, Central Universities, State Universities, Deemed Universities, Private Universities and Other Universities. The number of universities in each category accepting CUET UG 2023 scores is given in the table below.

Although NTA had given the facility for CUET UG 2023 application correction from April 1 to April 3 after the original application window, the facility was not given after the conclusion of the second phase of application from April 9 to April 11. This has led to huge demand from candidates to reopen the application correction window once more. Some students have claimed that they wish to add a subject to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023, while others have claimed that they didn't get enough time to make corrections or changes in the CUET UG Application Form 2023.

Owing to the rationalisation of the NCERT syllabus, a lot of students are in doubt about whether there will be a change in the CUET UG 2023 syllabus or not. To lower candidates' anxieties, now the National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that the notified syllabus will remain the same as the exam is not just for students from a particular board. Not all boards have rationalised the content. "Pupils do not need to be concerned about the most recent NCERT syllabus change," an NTA official said

The CUET UG 2023 exam pattern has undergone a change in terms of the number of questions. It is a computer-based test (CBT) with a differential duration. The table below brings the broad structure of CUET in terms of the number of questions in each section along with the duration.

This year 16.85 lakh candidates have registered for CUET UG, which is 41 per cent higher than last year. The number of CUET UG 2023 applications, or the number of candidates who paid the application fee is around 14 lakh. Uttar Pradesh is the state with the highest registration followed by Delhi and Bihar. As many as 1,000 candidates have registered from 74 foreign countries. University of Delhi (DU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) are the universities which received the highest registrations.

The CUET UG 2023 exam slots and timings for particular exam papers will be announced in the admit card. As per the previous year's data, the slot-wise timings of CUET UG are given below:

NTA has stated for those exam papers with a high number of applications, the exam will be conducted in three slots. 

CUET UG 2023 exam will be conducted in 412 cities across India. The total number of exam cities in India will be 388, whereas that outside India is 24. Based on last year's record, the number of exam cities in India has reduced and the cities outside India hosting CUET UG 2023 exam centres has been increased, 

The CUET UG 2023 exam will be conducted for a window of 10 days, from May 21 to May 31. There will be two to three slots of the exam depending on the number of registrations received for a particular paper or subject. Exact timings of the exam will be mentioned on the admit card. 

NTA is expected to release the CUET UG 2023 admit card in the second week of May. In general, NTA releases the admit card a week, or latest by four to five days prior to the exam day. The exact date of releasing the CUET UG hall ticket has not been announced by NTA, the exam conducting body.

The CUET UG advance intimation of exam city slip is a document which mentions the city where the candidates’ exam centre has been allotted. It is not an admit card, but a precursor to it. Candidates should not mistake it for the admit card.
