Many students from Jammu & Kashmir have raised concerns that they have been allotted the exam centers in Punjab, even when they had filled the options for closer cities such as Baramulla or Srinagar.
One of the students wrote: The 'CUET entrance exam' is unfair. Students in Kashmir must travel to Jammu and Punjab for exams, causing financial burden and stress. Many students won't attend, risking their future. I urge the administration, @DG_NTA NTA, and LG @manojsinha_ to act now.Thank you.#CUETUG2023

Another aspirant wrote: "As a resident of Baramulla in Kashmir, I recently saw exam centers for CUET are located in Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib both situated in Punjab. This revelation has left me and many other Kashmiri students in a state of distress and uncertainty."

Meanwhile, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar explained that "this has happened as the number of registrations from J&K and Jharkhand has increased significantly.
