Ananya plans to pursue a BA in Political Science Hons at Delhi University and aspires to become a civil servant.

Ananya Arya, an exceptional student from Patna, Bihar, scored 800/800 in CUET UG 2024 across her domain subjects and achieved a high score in English. With a stellar performance in her class 12 boards (98.4%), Ananya's preparation strategy emphasized early start, consistency, and avoiding procrastination. She plans to pursue a BA in Political Science Hons at Delhi University and aspires to become a civil servant.

Q: Could you tell us about your family background?

Ananya Arya: I hail from the historical city of Patna, Bihar - earlier known as Pataliputra. My family consists of four people: my dad, mom, younger brother, and me. My father is a businessman, and my mother is a homemaker.

Q: What was your reaction to your CUET UG 2024 results?

Ananya Arya: I appeared for five papers, including four domains: History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics of 200 marks each, and one language: English, of 200 marks. I scored 200/200 in all four domains, totaling 800/800. In English, I scored 185/200. I was extremely elated when I saw my score, and my parents were so proud of me. It was an atmosphere of sheer joy at my home.

Q: Can you tell us about your choice of stream in 10+2 and your performance?

Ananya Arya: I chose the Humanities stream in class 12th. Yes, I chose it myself because of a personal inclination as well as keeping in mind my aspiration to be a civil servant. I scored a total of 492/500 (98.4%) in my 12th boards.

Q: What was your strategy for CUET preparation?

Ananya Arya: My strategy for CUET was threefold. I kept the following points in mind:

  1. a) Starting Early - I started preparing for my domains side by side during my board preparation as a large part of the syllabus was the same. Although I opted for a different strategy when it came to preparing for MCQs, I prepared a separate register in which I noted down all the important points from which MCQs could be formed. After my boards had ended, I revised the chapters through that register itself instead of reading the NCERTs line by line.
  2. b) Staying consistent - Consistency is the key when it comes to competitive exams. Studying in smaller shifts regularly can help ease the pressure.
  3. c) Avoiding Procrastination - Procrastination can kill a lot of time. Therefore, avoiding distractions and keeping the daily goal in mind is of extreme importance.

Q: Who supported you the most during your CUET preparation?

Ananya Arya: My parents encouraged me the most during this journey. They have been extremely understanding and aware of the needs of the CUET exam and made sure I had all the facilities available to the best of their abilities.

Q: Can you describe your routine during CUET preparation?

Ananya Arya: I kept my daily routine very flexible. My day started with preparing a to-do list for the day. I allotted time to different subjects on different days and kept the hours flexible according to my convenience. At the end of the day, my goal was to be able to tick off the to-do list completely. Adda247 has been there for me throughout the journey whenever I needed help. The content provided by Adda247 is exactly what any CUET aspirant would be looking for. From solving doubts to motivating me when I was low, the faculty was always there for me. The Ebooks and Test Series are worth every penny. Reading NCERTs and then solving the test series helped me a great deal. Highly recommended!

Q:   Can CUET normalisation reduce marks?

A:

CUET normalisation procss refers to a process of adjusting scores to account for variations in difficulty between different sessions of CUET exam. The aim is to ensure fairness and equity among students who may have taken different sessions of the same exam.

The normalization process shouldn't inherently reduce marks for students. Instead, it aims to adjust scores in a way that maintains the integrity and validity of the assessment. CUET Normalization might involve scaling scores, adjusting grade boundaries, or applying statistical techniques to ensure that the difficulty level of the assessment doesn't disadvantage any particular group of students.
