IGNOU Organises National Youth Historian Conference on Bharat's Knowledge System

During the two-day National Conference, seven paper presentation sessions were also organised where young historians from all over the country presented about 100 research papers on the seminar's theme. 

IGNOU Conference

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), in association with Akhil Bhartiya Itihas Sankalan Yojna and Madhav Sanskriti Nyas, conducted the eighth National Youth Historian Conference at IGNOU’s headquarters in Maidan Garhi, New Delhi on on April 13 and 14, 2024. 

The conference was held on the theme of “Bharat’s Knowledge System, History Writing, and History’s Philosophy Keeping up with the National Education Policy 2020”.

Aim of The Event

With an aim to foster historical research and compilation in harmony with Bharat's Knowledge System that is mentioned in NEP 2020, the event was held. Further, it enabled young Indian academicians and historians to embrace the essence of Bharateeyta. 

Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Sarkaryavah, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh; Prof. Ishwar Sharan Vishvkarma, Executive President, Akhil Bhartiya Itihas Sankalan Yojna; Dr. Sachidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA; Dr. Sarangdevot, VC, Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth; Dr. Ravindra Kanhare, President, Pravesh evam Shulak Viniyamak Samiti, Madhya Pradesh; and Prof. Murli Manohar Pathak, VC, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University shared their insights at the event. 

The speakers emphasized colonial-free mentality and original thinking in historical research and writing. Seven paper presentation sessions, apart from the inaugural and concluding sessions, were organised. Furthermore, students from all over the country presented about 100 research papers related to the theme of the seminar “Bharat’s Knowledge System, History Writing, and History’s Philosophy".
