IISER released the IAT 2024 Round 2 counselling closing rank on July 30, 2024, for candidates getting admission to the BS-MS dual degree and BS degree programme offered by IISERs. The officials have released the IISER second round of counselling list in the form category wise closing AIR ranks for the seven participating institutes in the IAT 2024. IISER 2024 Round 2 Seat Allotment List Released

IISER 2024 Second round of the counselling/ admission list has been released by the exam officials on July 30, 2024. Test takers who had registered for IAT 2024 counselling registration can now visit the official website and check out the category-wise closing ranks of the IISER 2024 participating institutes. The exam will be providing admissions to the BS-MS dual degree and BS degree (IISER Bhopal) programmes offered at various IISERs, IIT Madras and IISc Banglore institutions.  

Test takers rank mentioned in the released IAT 2024 Round 2 rank list get the opportunity to either accept or reject the offered seat and submit the IISER 2024 seat acceptance fees. The offer letter that the candidates are getting is purely based on the merit list scores that they have achieved in the IAT 2024 examination. The late date to accept the seat offered by the respective IISER is August 3, 2024.

How to Fill IISER 2024 Decision-Making Form

After the declaration of the IAT 2024 seat allotment list, candidates whose AIR rank lies in the released closing rank list will then have two options ie., accept or reject the seat. Candidates can check out how to fill out the IISER 2024 decision-making form by following the below-mentioned steps:

  • Visit the IAT 2024 official website and log in to your registered account with the help of login credentials i.e., username and password.
  • then click on the submit reference tab present on the left corner of the system.
  • Next “Click Here to Submit Your Decision”
  • You will see this kind of offer letter once you click “Click here to download the offer letter”. This is a sample offer letter.
  • Click “DECISION MAKING” and then click “Click Here to View Allotted Seat”
  • Click “Generate OTP” to go to the next page
  • Enter the captcha to receive the OTP
  • Check your registered mobile number and/or email ID for the OTP
  • Validate the OTP received on your registered mobile number and/or email address 
  • Once the OTP is validated successfully this pop-up will come
  • After validating the OTP, you need to select one of the options. Candidates who received their 1st choice will not see the FLOAT (I WANT TO ACCEPT AND FLOAT MY SEAT PREFERENCE) option
  • Please select the option carefully and click “Proceed”. Once submitted, NO FURTHER CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED.

IISER 2024 Seat Acceptance Fees Details

The Seat Acceptance Fee is to be paid only after an offer of admission has been made to the candidate. The SAF will have to be paid as per the category entered by the candidate in the application.

  • INR 35,000/- (INR 25,000/- + INR 10,000/- (Non-refundable administrative fee)) for General/EWS/OBC/OBC-NCL/PwD/KM/Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) categories.
  • INR 17,500/- (INR 12,500/- + INR 5000/- (Non refundable administrative fee)) for SC/ST categories.
  • Failure to deposit the SAF within the stipulated time will result in the cancellation of the offer. Furthermore, you will not be considered in any subsequent rounds of seat allotment during admission in 2024.
  • Once you register in your allotted IISER, this amount will be adjusted against your first semester fee.

Q:   What are the different channels for getting admission in IISER Colleges?

A:

Earlier there was three chaneels through which candidates can ge admissions to the courses offered at IISER institions, IISc Banglore and IIT Madras. From the academic session 2025, admisisons were made through IAT exam channel only and other two channels were discontinued.

There were three channels for admission:

  1. IAT Channel a. Candidates seeking admission through this channel must appear for a computer-based IISER Aptitude Test (IAT-2025).
  2. KVPY Channel The KVPY-SA-2021 students who have received the provisional KVPY fellowship award are eligible to apply for admission. A. Candidates in the extended KVPY merit list are not eligible.
  3. JEE Channel a. Candidates seeking admission under JEE channel should have qualified in the JEE Advanced in the year 2023, AND should have a rank within 15000 in the common rank list or in the respective category rank lists (GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD). B. Those who qualified JEE Advanced in any year other than 2023 are not eligible. C. Candidates with JEE Advanced preparatory ranks are not eligible. Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2023.

Q:   What courses are offered at IISERs?

A:
IISERs offer admission into courses leading to BSMS Dual Degree, and BS Degree (only at IISER Bhopal) Programs. Admissions are via IAT Channel, KVPY Channel and JEE Advanced Channel. Below are the programmes offered by IISERs: 1. Biological Sciences 2. Chemical Sciences 3. Earth & Climate Sciences/Earth & Environmental Sciences 4. Economic Sciences 5. Engineering Sciences (Chemical Engineering, Data Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science) 6. Geological Sciences 7. Integrated & Interdisciplinary Sciences (Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences) 8. Mathematical Sciences 9. Physical Sciences.

Q:   Do all IISER students get scholarships?

A:
One of the major attractions at these new institutes was a guarantee of the INSPIRE-SHE award. Every student enrolled in the IISERs was eligible to receive the Rs-80,000 scholarship provided their academic performance was satisfactory, I. e. if they maintained an annual GPA of 6.0 and above on a 10-point scale. Students admitted through the KVPY channel will be eligible for scholarships as per KVPY norms. Students admitted through IIT-JEE (Advanced) and SCB channels will be eligible for a limited number of INSPIRE scholarships as per the norms of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
