JMI organizes interactive session on ‘Diversity and Inclusion in India’

As part of “ViksitBharat@2047:Voice of Youth” the Department of Sociology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized an interactive session on ‘Diversity and Inclusion in India’ by Prof. Arvinder A. Ansari on January 18, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Seminar Hall.

Prof. Ansari discussed the values of inclusivity enshrined in the Constitution of India and the need for civil society to honour the vision of the leaders of independent India. The event was attended by students, faculty members and research scholars of the Department, who participated enthusiastically in the discussion by bringing forth their questions and comments on the topic.  

Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra extended till February 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced that the Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra would be extended by another month till February because of a huge public demand for the “Modi Guarantee Vehicles”.

“The Yatra has completed two months. It has turned into a ‘Vishwas (trust) Yatra’. People are also calling it the ‘Guarantee Yatra’,” Modi said.

“In the last 10 years, the way our government has created a transparent system, made genuine efforts and promoted public participation, it has made even the impossible possible,” he added, as reported by Telegraph India.

PM Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the campaign via video conferencing and he said during the interaction that seeing the unprecedented response, the campaign, which was to end on January 26, will be prolonged for a few more days.
