JNU extends registration for Winter Session to Jan 19

JNU Vice Chancellor may consider written requests for registration and grant the permission for late registration. If deemed fit, with imposition of appropriate amount of fine at his discretion, said the official notification.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) started the registration for Winter Semester 2024 on January 8, 2024 as per the Academic Calendar. Earlier, the last date for registration without late application fee was January 12, 2024. Now, the candidates can apply for the winter session till January 19, 2024.

"This is to bring to the notice of all concerned that registration deadline for ongoing Winter Semester 2024 has been extended further upto Januray 19, 2024 without late fine. However, registration after January 19, 2024 will continue with late fine," reads official notification of JNU.

Late application fee for JNU Winter Semester 2024

After due date from January 20 to January 26, 2024, the late fee is INR 100 per day, from January 27 to February 2, it is INR 200 per day and from February 3 to February 23, it will be INR 500 per day. For foreign nationals - from Jan 20 to Jan 26, late fee will be @5% of the Tuition Fee, from Jan 27 to Feb 2, @10% and from Feb 3 to Feb 23, it is @15% of Tuition Fee.

Hostel fee will be charged at the old rate. Since the revised hostel rates are sub-judiced, decision on revised rates will be made as per the outcome of the High Court decision and all concerned will have to abide by the Court Ruling, said the official statement.

The Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID is mandatory for registration in respect of those students who have been admitted in the University in Academic Session 2021-22 onwards.
