The election committee has announced that the final results of the Jawaharlal Nehru University union elections will be announced on March 24, 2024.

JNU to hold students' union elections on March 22 after four year gap

Jawaharlal Nehru University Campus in New Delhi is all set to hold its students' union elections on March 22, 2024. JNU election committee has said the final results will be announced on March 24, 2024. To maintain the transparency, today a tentative voters list will be displayed and any objections to the list will be addressed.

Students will be able to file their nominations from March 14 and the final list of candidates will be displayed on March 16, 2024.

The School-level General Body Meetings will be organized from March 17 to March 19. The University level General Body Meetings (UGBM) will begin on March 20, 10 am, as reported by Economic Times.

The university said, "All candidates shall be prohibited from indulging or abetting, all activities which are considered to be "corrupt practices" and offences, such as bribing of voters, intimidation of voters, impersonation of voters, convassing or the use of propaganda within 100 metres of polling stations, holding public meetings during the period of 24 hours ending with the hour fixed for the close of the poll, and the transport and conveyance of voters to and from polling station."

JNU added that all the provisions of Lyngdoh Committee Report (LCR) are applicable to JNUSU elections. Election Committee has revealed plans for additional activities including presidential debate to encourage candidacies to engage in candidacies' open communication.
