The Government of Kerala will host the Global Science Festival Kerala (GSFK) from January 15 to February 15, featuring talks by Morten P Meldal, the 2022 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, along with scientists from NASA, ISRO, and other research institutions. Check details here

The Global Science Festival Kerala (GSFK) is going to be hosted by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and Amuseum ArtScience, at the Bio 360 Life Sciences Park, Thonnakkal, Thiruvananthapuram, from January 15 to February 15, 2024. GSFK is aimed at fostering “a culture of appreciating science and to examine its strengths and weaknesses.”

The target audience include art and science enthusiasts, scientists and the student community. The event will be addressed by Morten P Meldal, Nobel Prize winner in chemistry in 2022, scientists from National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) USA, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and other scientific research institutions. 

During the event, IISER will host a conference on January 27 facilitating student engagement with diverse scientists. Additionally, on February 2, the directors of IITs in Tirupati, Palakkad, Dharwad, Mandi, and Bhubaneswar are convening an educational technology conclave.

The official website reads, “GSFK is an interdisciplinary and international approach to recognise, explore and experience Science through the collaboration of artists, scientists, designers, architects, musicians and more. To ensure the nature of science is conveyed at a grassroots level, GSFK has outreach programmes, satellite events and various exciting campaigns that will occur throughout the year culminating in the grand festival.”

Entry Ticket for Kerala Global Science Fest 

The cost of entry for the event will be from Rs 250 per day for adults and Rs 150 per day for students above 10 years of age. There is no entry fee for children below the age of 10 years. The event also organise activities such as tenting and skywatching for which the participants will have to pay extra amount. An all-Kerala Science Quiz and a Science for Kids Gallery are among the events planned for children.
