The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to adjust the dates for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Undergraduate (UG) exam in response to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. With the Lok Sabha polls expected to be completed by May 15, the initial CUET UG exam schedule falls within this period.

While replying to a question by Shiksha.com, the Lok Sabha polls are likely to be over by May 15, when CUET UG 2024 would begin. So will the dates of the initial few exams be changed or the entire schedule?

UGC Chairman, Prof M Jagadesh Kumar said: Please wait until NTA announces. There is nothing to add to what has already been reported.”

In light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has indicated that the dates for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Undergraduate (UG) exam will be subject to adjustment. The CUET UG exam, initially slated to commence from May 15 to May 31, 2024, may undergo modifications to accommodate the election schedule.

UGC Chairman, Prof M Jagadesh Kumar emphasized the need to await the announcement from the NTA regarding the finalized CUET UG 2024 exam dates. He stated, "The dates announced by the NTA are tentative. Once the election dates are announced, the NTA will finalize the CUET UG dates."

The CUET UG exam serves as a crucial gateway for students seeking admission to various undergraduate programs across central universities and other participating institutions. As the application process for CUET UG is currently underway, candidates are urged to stay updated with official announcements from the NTA regarding any changes to the exam schedule.

It is anticipated that the NTA will swiftly adjust the CUET UG exam dates to ensure minimal disruption for aspiring candidates. The CUET-Graduate examination was inaugurated in 2022.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled the CUET UG 2024 application form, accessible at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Prospective candidates can complete the application online, with the registration deadline set for March 26, 2024, until 11:50 PM. The application process for CUET 2024 exclusively transpires online, necessitating applicants to navigate to the official website and submit their forms. Before initiating the application process, candidates are reminded to meticulously review and fulfill the eligibility criteria outlined for CUET 2024.

To streamline the examination process and assessment procedures, the number of subject choices for CUET 2024 has been curtailed from 10 to six. The NTA has slated the CUET 2024 examination to transpire from May 15 to May 31, 2024. The examination format will adopt a hybrid approach, encompassing both pen-and-paper mode and computer-based testing, with the former being designated for subjects garnering over 1.5 lakh registrations.
