UGC Urges State Boards to Encourage Students Participation in CUET (UG) 2024

In a recent development, Professor Manish Joshi, Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has dispatched a letter to the Chairpersons of all State Boards, urging them to promote student participation in the upcoming Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for the academic year 2024-25.

CUET UG Exam, mandated by the Ministry of Education and overseen by the National Testing Agency (NTA), serves as a gateway for admission into various undergraduate programs offered by Central Universities and other participating institutions across India. With the registration deadline extended until March 31, 2024, Prof. Joshi emphasized the importance of informing students about this opportunity and encouraging them to register through the official website.

The letter highlights the dynamic nature of the list of participating universities, which is continuously updated on the NTA website. Notably, CUET (UG) 2023 saw a significant turnout, with approximately 15 lakh students participating in the examination.

CUET UG 2024 Exam Date

For the academic session 2024-25, CUET (UG) 2024 is scheduled to be conducted in a hybrid mode between May 15 and May 31, 2024, across 13 languages. The results are expected to be declared by June 30, 2023, with possible adjustments depending on the National Election Schedule.

Prof. Joshi emphasized the collective responsibility to ensure that students are aware of the registration process and the benefits associated with CUET (UG) 2024. The initiative aims to streamline the admission process and provide students with a fair and transparent opportunity to pursue higher education in esteemed institutions across the country.

“In light of these developments, State Boards are urged to disseminate information about CUET (UG) 2024 among students and facilitate their registration through the official NTA website, https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/. This collaborative effort seeks to empower students and enhance accessibility to quality higher education opportunities,” reads UGC letter.

The last date of the CUET UG 2024 registration has been extended up to 31 March 2024.
