"All public and private schools, colleges and educational institutions in NCR shall remain closed until further orders allowing only online mode of education," the CAQM directions read.
As an effort toward improving air quality in Delhi NCR, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) directed that all public and private schools, colleges and educational institutions in the National Capital Region shall remain closed until further orders, allowing only online mode of education. While the schools in the national capital have reopened recently and CBSE Term-1 exams 2021 have begun, the Commission has suggested the closure of schools amid the hazardously rising air pollution. "All public and private schools, colleges and educational institutions in NCR shall remain closed until further orders allowing only online mode of education," the CAQM directions read.
According to the tweet posted by ANI, “Entry of all trucks in Delhi has been banned until Nov 21, except those carting essential commodities. CAQM also orders all construction activities to cease in NCR till Nov 21 except projects related to Railways, Metro, Airport and National Security/Defence.”
"All industries in NCR still using unapproved fuels shall be closed by respective governments with immediate effect... NCR States and GNCTD shall enforce a strict ban on use of DG sets, except for emergency services," the panel further said.
Meanwhile, CAQM has also advised NCR state government (Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh) to allow at least 50% of staff to work from home (WFH) until Nov 21. Private firms in Delhi NCR must also be encouraged to allow at least 50 % of their staff to WFH, CAQM said in a series of directions.
Authorities in NCR have been ordered to ensure that no diesel and petrol vehicles older than 10 years and 15 years, respectively, are found plying on road. The Delhi government has been directed to expeditiously procure and put on road an adequate number of CNG buses at the earliest.
