SMS Medical College: 28 doctors interviewed for post of Principal

The selection committee has conducted interview of as many as 28 doctors for the post of principal at SMS Medical College in Rajasthan.

As per reports, a selection committee headed by Chief Secretary Usha Sharma conducted interviews of 28 doctor applicants for the post of principal at SMS Medical College. The current principal Dr Sudhir Bhandari's tenure will end on July 4.

While the state government is emphasising on improving the healthcare infrastructure, the committee discussed some important issues of the college with candidates and they were also asked how they will manage the increasing crowd at the hospital along with question on expanding healthcare facilities for patients.

About selection process

Out of 37 doctors who applied for the post, 28 appeared in interview. The committee will send its recommendations to the state government soon, as reported by Times Of India.

After conducting the interviews, the selection committee will send the names of 3 shortlisted doctors out of these doctors to Medical Minister Parsadi Lal Meena in a closed envelope and the minister will send them to the Chief Minister and the principal will be appointed after the approval of the CM, as reported by Zee News.

Vaibhav Galaria, Principal Secretary, Medical Education, who was included in the selection committee, said that 40 doctors had applied for the post of principal. Out of which 37 names were found correct. Now applications will also be sought for 4 other medical colleges' principals soon.
