While the evacuation of Indians stranded in Ukraine is still going on, the Supreme Court has assured a petitioner that the Government of India is doing its work.
Amid the ongoing evacuation of Indians stranded in Ukraine, a lawyer has knocked on the Supreme Court doors and urged the top court to give direction to the Centre for the safe evacuation of Indians. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ramana has said that the Government of India is doing its work to evacuate Indians.
Ever since the Russia and Ukraine war has started, the Indian government is working for the evacuation of Indians from the troubled country Ukraine. The Embassy of India is also guiding the stranded Indians there on regular basis.
Operation Ganga going in full swing
On March 2, the Indian Air Force had joined the Central government's Operation Ganga to bring back the stranded Indians in Ukraine.
Today, a special flight from Poland carrying Indian nationals have reached Delhi.
Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Kailash Choudhary said, "Students are happy and it is a matter of relief for them since they came out of the conflict-torn country. They thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their safe evacuation. Our four union ministers are overseeing the evacuation. Sixteen flights have already reached. Around 15 flights will reach in 24 hours. More than 3,000 Indian nationals have reached India so far. The operation will continue till the last person is evacuated from Ukraine. The PM himself is monitoring the operation," as reported by TOI.
As per reports, PM Modi also spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on phone and discussed the safe evacuation of the Indian nationals from the conflict areas.
