UGC NET mock test

The application process for UGC NET 2018, conducted to shortlist candidates for the posts of ‘only Assistant Professor’ or ‘both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor’ is currently underway. All candidates interested in applying for the exam can fill UGC NET 2018 application form on the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) latest by September 30.

UGC NET 2018 exam will consist of two papers – I and II that candidates need to complete in a duration of one hour and two hours, respectively. Check complete UGC NET exam pattern. It may be noted that UGC NET is being conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the first time. Therefore, in order to make candidates familiar with the online format of the exam NTA has launched UGC NET mock test facility.

Candidates can take UGC NET 2018 mock tests in the following two ways:

1) Candidates having an internet facility and their own computers, laptops or mobiles have the ease of taking the mock test from any location. Such candidates can take the mock test on the official website of NTA by logging in using their registered credentials. Candidates can also download mock tests from the official website of the agency. For the same, they need to click on the Download Mock Test link given at the top of the Home Page of NTA website.

2) Candidates not having internet facility at their places can take UGC NET 2018 mock test at the Test Practice Centres (TPCs) launched by NTA recently. In order to ensure that no student is at disadvantage due to lack of resources, NTA has launched over 3404 TPCs with 2.7 lakh computers across 662 districts of India. All candidates can register for TPCs on the official website of NTA. Once registration is done, candidates will be allotted a test practice centre in their nearby location. Candidates can visit their allotted TPC and take free mock test on the computer. The official website of NTA informs, “The entire experience of using a computer will be close to the actual experience of taking a CBT. All efforts will also be made to provide practice tests and questions so that candidates can familiarize themselves with logging into the system, go through the detailed instructions regarding the test, use the mouse or numeric keyboard on screen (virtual) for attempting each question, scroll down to the next question, navigate between questions, review and edit their options and submit answers.”

Candidates must note that in order to prepare as well as score well in the exam, it is important that they are well-versed with not only the online format of the test but also the type of questions and topics that appear in the exam every year. Therefore, Shiksha has compiled UGC NET questions papers of last two years for the reference of candidates. Check UGC NET past year question papers/ queries related to mock test.
