RBI Grade B Exam Day Guidelines 2024: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released RBI Grade B exam day guidelines 2024 for Phase 1 exam. Before appearing for the RBI Grade B exam, candidates must carefully go through the exam day guidelines. There are several rules that candidates need to abide by on the day of the exam ranging from the dress code to the required documents to carry and stationery items that are needed during the exam so on. RBI Grade B exam is conducted for the post of Officers in Grade B (General), Officers in Grade B (Department of Economic and Policy Research), Officers in Grade B (Department of Statistics and Information Management. RBI Grade B Phase 1 Exam Day Guidelines 2024: General Instructions

Candidates can check below the general instructions related to RBI Grade B exam day guidelines:

  • The roll number, password, date, time and details of the exam centres are given in RBI Grade B admit card
  • To report on time on the exam day, candidates are advised to visit the venue one day before the exam
  • Candidates should bring the admit card to the RBI Grade B exam centre along with their recent passport-size photograph duly pasted on it
  • Candidates need to bring one valid photo-identity proof in original and a photocopy. The photo-identity proofs that candidates can carry are PAN Card/Passport/Permanent Driving Licence/Voter’s Card/Bank Passbook/Identity Card issued by a recognised college/university/Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar Card/Employee ID/Bar Council Identity Card. Ratio Card and Learner’s Driving License are not accepted as valid ID proof
  • Use of calculators, books, notebooks, written notes, pagers or any other electronic devices are not allowed during the exam
  • Candidates must bring a ball-point pen for RBI Grade B exam
  • Sheets for doing rough work will be provided at the exam centre

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Day Guidelines 2024

Candidates can check below RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam day guidelines 2024:

  • Paper 3 (Finance and Management) will take place in morning shift, followed by Paper 1 (Economics and Social Issues) and Paper II (English) in the afternoon shift without any break between Paper I and Paper II
  • For Paper I and Paper III, 30 minutes duration is allotted to attempt objective-type questions. After 30 minutes, descriptive type paper will start for which 90 minutes duration is allotted. Candidates will not be able to shuffle between objective/descriptive papers
  • For Paper I and Paper III, descriptive type paper the word limit is 600 words for 15 marks questions and 400 words for 10 marks questions
  • Separate admission letters should be downloaded for morning and afternoon shifts
  • The date, time of Phase 2 examination/shifts, and venue of examinations are indicated in both RBI Grade B admit cards
  • The option of language is to be chosen in the beginning of the test. However, as required, you will be able to switch/toggle between the two languages, after choosing the option for the language
  • Answers to the objective type Papers of Phase-II (i.e. Paper-I and Paper-III) are to be marked by mouse clicking the correct option and then 'Save and Next'
  • The time for the examination in the morning and afternoon shifts is 120 and 210 minutes respectively, however, candidates have to be in the venue for approximately 160 and 240 minutes respectively, including the time required for attendance marking, submission of admission letter with photocopy of the photo ID proof, logging in, etc.
  • For every wrong answer marked by candidates, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty 
  • Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying penalty for wrong answers
  • Paper-wise scores are reported with decimal points up to two digits
  • Paper-I and Paper-III: Descriptive Type Papers: In case of Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be asked, of which candidates will be required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, candidates answers more than 4 questions in descriptive, first 4 shall be evaluated.
  • English (Writing Skills) Descriptive Paper: The paper on English will be framed in a manner to assess the writing skills including expression and understanding of the topic. The Paper may include Questions on essay writing, précis writing and comprehension etc. Candidates will have to type answers with the help of the key-board of the computer.

RBI Grade B Exam Day Guidelines 2024: Covid-19 Guidelines

Candidates need to follow the given COVID-19 related guidelines during the exam:

  • Candidates are required to report at the exam centre as per the time slot mentioned on the admit card
  • Candidates must report atleast 15 minutes before the reporting time mentioned in the admit card
  • The roll number and lab number will not be displayed outside the exam venue, the same will be informed to candidates individually at the entry gate
  • Wearing a mask is compulsory
  • Candidates must carry a personal transparent water bottle
  • Candidates can carry hand sanitiser of 50 ml
  • Candidates should maintain safe social distance with one another
  • Candidates need to install Aarogya Setu app on their mobile phones. Those who does not have a smart phone must bring a signed declaration as per the format given on the admit card.
  • Candidate registration will be done through photo capture
  • Photograph will be taken while the candidate is standing
  • Seat number will be given to the candidate
  • Rough sheets will be kept at each candidate desk
  • Candidates need to submit the admit card, photo-ID proof and rough sheets at the designated boxes kept outside the exam hall

RBI Grade B Exam Day Guidelines: Instructions for Online Test

Check below the instructions related to the online test:

  • The question paper will be in English and Hindi
  • All questions will have multiple choices. Out of the five options, candidates need to select one correct answer
  • Click on the question number on the question palette to go a particular question directly
  • Click on ‘Save & Next’ to save answer
  • Click on ‘Mark for Review and Next’ to save answer to the current question. If an answer is selected for a question that is ‘Marked for Review’, the answer will be considered in the final evaluation.
  • To deselect a chosen answer, click on the chosen option again or click on the ‘Clear Response’ button
  • To change an answer to a question, first select the question and then click on the new answer option followed by a click on the ‘Save & Next’ button
  • Questions that are saved or marked for review after answering will only be considered for evaluation
  • Candidates will not be allowed to ‘Finally Submit’ unless they have exhausted the actual test time
  • Candidates are not allowed to use the ‘Keyboard’

Q:   Will there be a Psychometric Test in RBI Grade B exam?

A:

As per the revised exam pattern, candidates need to appear for the Psychometric Test in the RBI Grade B exam before appearing in the interview. There are no marks for this test. The performance of candidates in the psychometric test is not counted for the final merit list. It is only conducted to test the psychological knowledge of candidates. The psychometric test basically measure individuals' mental capabilities and behaviour style. The test assess a cadidate's ability to perform the assigned job role. Candidates are advised to reach the RBI Grade B exam centre an hour before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Before candidates are given entry to the exam hall, their admit cards and photo-identity proof document are checked by the exam centre officials.

Q:   What documents should I carry to the RBI Grade B exam centre?

A:
Candidates need to carry RBI Grade B admit card and one photo-identity proof to the exam centre. Candidates can carry anyone of the following photo-identity proofs: Voter ID Aadhaar Card Pan Card Driving License Passport.

Q:   Are the exam centres for RBI Grade B prelims and Mains exams the same?

A:
RBI Grade B exam centres are different for prelims and Mains exams. The prelims exam is conducted in more than 150 cities and Mains exam is conducted in 20 cities. The interview is conducted at some of the exam centres prescribed for the Mains exam. The interview is conducted at the regional offices of RBI at times.

The basic salary of RBI Grade B is INR 55,200 per month. The final selection of candidates is done based on the Phase 2 exam and interview.

Q:   Are there any sectional timings in the RBI Grade B exam?

There are sectional timings in Phase 1 of RBI Grade B exam. The prelims exam is conducted for 120 minutes. Candidates need to attempt the different sections of the prelims exam as per the allotted time frame. Paper 1 and 3 of the Mains exam are held for 120 minutes. The Paper 2 of the Mains exam is conducted for 90 minutes. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 200. The total marks allotted to the Mains exam are 300. The total marks allotted to interview are 75 marks. In Phase-I, 25 minutes each are allotted to General Awareness, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude while 45 minutes are allotted to Reasoning.

The details of RBI Grade B exam centres are mentioned on RBI Grade B admit card. The admit card comprises the address of the exam centre, centre code, reporting time, shift time, exam date, etc. RBI Grade B exam centres are allotted to candidates as per their choice. However, the examination authority reserves the right to allot exam centres to candidates.
