RBI Grade B Shift 1 Analysis 2022 & Student Reaction: Reserve Bank of India conducted RBI Grade B Phase 1 2022 on May 28 for the Grade B General post. The overall difficulty level of the paper held in Shift 1 was moderate to difficult. The students who had appeared for the exam said that the Reasoning section was tough and time-consuming. Questions in this section were asked from Seating Arrangement, Paragraph Based questions, Statement Based questions. The Quantitative Aptitude section was moderate and calculative. Questions in Quant section were asked from Compound Interest and Simple Interest, Quadratic Equation, etc. The English Language section carried two Reading Comprehensions and was easy. Current Affairs questions were based on May and April events. RBI Grade B Exam Pattern 2022

RBI Grade B phase 1 exam pattern 2022 was divided into four sections-General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. The paper carried a total of 200 questions. Total marks allotted to the test are 200. For every wrong answer, 1/4 marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

Q:   How many questions are asked in Phase I and II exams of RBI Grade B?

A:
In Phase-I exam, the paper carries a total of 200 questions. In Phase-II, the objective paper of Paper I and III will have a total of 30 questions and descriptive paper will have six questions. Paper-II will carry three questions. The total marks allotted to the Phase-I exam are 200 while the Phase-II exam carries a total of 300 marks. The objective test carries 50 marks whereas the descriptive paper carries 50 marks.

AFCAT exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as number of sections, weightage of topics, time duration, total marks, marking scheme, etc. AFCAT exam is divided into online test and AFSB interview. Besides AFCAT candidates who applies for the technical branch are required to appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). AFCAT test comprises different sections such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English . Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. EKT carries questions from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. AFCAT carries a total of 100 questions whereas, EKT carries 50 questions. The total marks allotted to AFCAT are 300 whereas, EKT carries 150 marks. The duration of AFCAT exam is two hours whereas EKT is held for 45 minutes. Both AFCAT and EKT is held in online mode and the language of the question paper is English.

Divyansh Dutta said, “The paper of RBI Grade B Phase 1 2022 was moderate to difficult. General Awareness questions were very basic and asked from banking awareness, budget, etc. There were two to three questions on Static GK. In Quant, questions were asked SI, CI, etc. English was easy while Reasoning was difficult. RBI Grade B Phase 1 cutoff 2022 might remain same.”

Shivam Agarwal said, “The paper was of moderate level. In GA, questions were asked from current affairs of May, April and March. The GA was moderate while Reasoning was doable. In Quant, I found the Arithmetic part to be difficult. There were questions from DI, Quadratic Equation. In English, there were two RCs, Cloze Tests, etc. The cutoff might go to 80 to 90.

Q:   What is RBI Grade B exam pattern?

A:

RBI Grade B exam pattern is such that it is divided into Phase I, II, and Interview. The Phase 1 comprises subjects such as General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the exam are 200. The duration of the test is 120 minutes. The language of the question paper is English and Hindi. Phase II comprises Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The Phase 2 exam carries 300 marks. The duration of Paper I and III are 120 minutes (30 minutes for the objective test and 90 minutes for the descriptive test) while Paper-II is held for 90 minutes. All papers of Phase II, except the English Language, are set in English and Hindi. The interview carries 75 marks.

A:

RBI Grade B syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude section comprises Number Series, Data Interpretation (Missing DI, Pie Chart, Caselet DI, Mix DI), Quadratic Equation, Miscellaneous Questions (Profit Loss, Average, SI & CI, Ratio & Proportion, Time & Work, Time, Speed & Distance, Boats & Streams, etc.), Data Sufficiency. The tips and tricks to ace the Quant section of RBI Grade B exam are given below:

  • Candidates must practice well to know the exam pattern. They should practice prime numbers, alternate series, cubes, squares, etc. Hence, learn the cubes (up to 20) and squares (up to 30)
  • Candidates should practice previous year question papers
  • Most of the questions from DI are asked from Bar Graph or Pie Chart. Practice a lot of questions based on these charts and. Give sectional mocks to assess the performance

Q:   What is AFCAT marking scheme?

A:
AFCAT marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority. The marking scheme highlights the marks that candidates score for correct answers and marks deducted for wrong answers. The total marks allotted to AFCAT exam are 300. AFCAT marking scheme is given below: For correct answers, candidates score three marks. For example: Reasoning section carries 35 questions and candidates have answered 20 questions correctly. They will score 60 marks For every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. For example: Candidates have attempted 18 questions, out of which, 15 questions are correct and three questions are incorrect. The score of candidates will be 15x3-3=42. The examination authority does not deduct marks for unattempted questions.

Q:   How many questions are asked in Phase I and II for Grade B (General) posts?

A:

A total of 200 questions will be asked in Phase I of RBI Grade B. The objective part of Paper-I and III of Phase II carries a total of 30 questions, while the descriptive part carries a total of six questions. The Paper-II of Phase II carries a total of three questions. The Phase 1 of RBI Grade B exam carries questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The Phase 2 of RBI Grade B exam carries three papers- Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The paper 1 of Phase 2 exam, carries 50 per cent Objective-Type questions and 50 per cent Descriptive questions which candidates need to type with the help of the keyboard. Atul Kumar said, “The overall paper was moderate in terms of difficulty level. I found Quant to be tough, Reasoning was moderate and English was easy.”

Rahul Kumar said, “The paper was similar to last year and was tough. The Maths section was calculative. There was a mixed pattern of questions in GA such as factual and statement-based. The passage was lengthy in English. The Reasoning was moderate. The cutoff might be 85 to 90.”
