RRB Group D 2020 exam dates will not be announced before May/June because the exam conducting authority has not been finalised. Read below for more details.

RRB Group D exam dates will not be announced before May/June as the Indian Railways are still in the process of finalization of Exam Conducting Agency (ECA). On March 2, Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) had invited tenders for Exam Conducting Agency (ECA). Since then, the process has been postponed two times. The role of ECA is to conduct the Computer Based Test (CBT), announce the result and panel the candidates.

It is been almost a year since the RRB Group D notification was announced. A total of 1,03,769 vacancies have been announced. RRBs have received 1,15,67,248 applications against these vacancies. RRB Group D exam was to be held in September-October, 2019. Aspirants are worried as the exam dates are postponed. They had even expressed their concerns on social media. Some candidates had also filed RTI regarding the exam dates.

The selection process comprises, CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination. According to RRB Group D exam pattern, the CBT will be held for 90 minutes and comprises sections such as General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs. There is negative marking for incorrect answers, 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Read RRB Group D Exam Pattern & Syllabus 

Shortlisted candidates will appear for PET. Candidates three times the number of RRB Group D vacancies are selected for PET. On the basis of candidate's performance in CBT and subject to their qualifying the PET, candidates 1.05 times the number of vacancies will be called for document verification. Post document verification, selected candidates have to undergo medical examination. Letter of appointment will be offered to only those candidates who are found medically fit.
