RRB Group D 2021 exam dates expected soon; key points for candidates

RRB Group D 2021 exam dates to be announced soon by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). Candidates who have registered for the RRC Group D exam can check the exam dates on the respective official websites of RRBs. In December 2020, the railway authorities had said that RRB Group D exam would commence after the RRB NTPC exam is over.

RRB NTPC exam was conducted from December 28 to July 31, 2021. RRB Group D 2021 exam notification was released in 2019. The Computer Based Test (CBT) was scheduled to be conducted in September-October 2019. However, it could not be conducted due to the non-finalisation of the exam conducting agency. It was estimated that the RRC Group D will begin in June 2021. However, a few months later the ongoing RRB NTPC exam was stalled due to the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases. Therefore, no exams were conducted between April-June.

Number of applicants

A total of 1.15 crore application forms have been received for RRB Group D exam. The total number of vacancies announced for the exam is 1,03,769. As the number of applicants is large, the competition is going to be high. Therefore, candidates must prepare well for the exam.

Release of admit card

RRB Group D admit card will be released four days before the exam. Along with the admit card, RRBs will also activate the link for the mock tests, downloading free travelling authority, city intimation slip, etc. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter user ID and password.

Exam Pattern for CBT

RRB Group D exam pattern for CBT is divided into four sections: General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The total duration of the test is 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied by the scribe). The test paper comprises a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Selection Process

RRB Group D exam comprises CBT. However, RRBs reserves the right to conduct CBT in either single-stage or multiple stage mode. Candidates qualifying in the CBT will have to undergo Document Verification and Medical Examination.

Fee Refund

RRB Group D application form fees will be refunded to candidates after appearing in the CBT. Candidates belonging to General/OBC/EWS categories will get a refund of Rs 400 after deducting the bank charges. Candidates belonging to PwBD/Female/Transgender/Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/Economically Backward Class will get a full refund of their application fee i.e Rs 250.
