RRBs have activated the link to update/correct bank account details to get the refund of RRB NTPC application fees. The last date to update the bank account details is August 31.

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have activated the link to update/correct bank account details to get the refund of application fees. The link for filling up of bank account details along with OTP (for login) have been shared through SMS and email to the registered mobile numbers and email IDs. Candidates can update their bank account details till August 31. To update/correct the bank account details, candidates need to login with roll number, date of birth, OTP (sent on the registered email IDs and mobile numbers by RRBs), captcha code.

Only those candidates who have appeared in RRB NTPC 2021 CBT 1 exam, conducted from December 28 to July 31, 2021, will get a refund of the application fees. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories are entitled to get full refund of their examination fees, which is Rs 250. Whereas candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC categories will get a partial refund of their examination fees, which is Rs 400 after deducting the bank charges. 

RRB NTPC 2021 application fees refund: How to update/correct bank account details?

The process to update/correct bank account details to get the refund of application fees are given below:

  • Visit the respective official websites of RRBs
  • Click the link 'Update/Correction of Bank Account Details'
  • Enter roll number, DOB, OTP and captcha code
  • Submitting the details, the page to update the bank account details appears on the screen
  • Provide details of registration number, roll number, name, father’s name, community, Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, date of CBT, bank account holder’s name, bank account number, bank IFSC code, and bank name
  • Check the bank account number, name, IFSC code before submitting the details
  • Click on the ‘Update’ button to finally submit the details

The process of refund will be initiated subject to the verification of candidates’ details as per the records with RRBs. Incorrect / incomplete/ late claims will be rejected. No refund will be provided to candidates if they fail to submit the bank account details. Only one refund per bank account will be allowed.

Earlier, while filling the RRB NTPC application form (CEN 01/2019), candidates had to update their bank account details for the fee refund. However, the application forms were received two years back and there might be changes in the account details of candidates. RRBs have noticed that large number of payments were made from the same account and bank account details of many candidates are not available. However, the IFSC codes of some banks might have changed due to the bank mergers. Therefore, RRBs have decided to take fresh details of the bank accounts of candidates for refunding the application fees.
