India-Israel signed an Agreement for cooperation in Cyber Security

India and Israel on July 15 signed an agreement to expand their cooperation in cybersecurity. The agreement was signed on Wednesday between the Director-General of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate (INCD), Yigal Unna, and India’s Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla.

India and Bhutan opened an alternative trade route for better connectivity

India and Bhutan have opened an alternative trade route starting from West Bengal’s Jaigaon and Pasakha in Bhutan. This is a new trade route to facilitate connectivity for the local traders. This link between Jaigaon and Ahlay, Pasakha will facilitate connectivity between our two countries. This is a temporary Alternate Trade route opened in the times of COVID times.

India is set to open Civilian flights to the US, UK and France

Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Hardeep Puri on July 16, 2020 announced that India is all set to resume the international commercial flights with the United States and France.

The Government has signed agreements with the United States of America, United Kingdom, France and countries in UAE. Negotiations with Germany are on and will conclude in the near future.

FIFA World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar

FIFA has released the FIFIA world Cup 2022 schedule of matches on July 15. This will be the first time that the FIFA world cup is organised in Qatar. Qatar is the first west Asian nation and also the smallest country to host a FIFA World Cup.

The FIFA 2022 world cup will start from November 21, 2022 and will end on December 18. This will be the last instance when thirty-two teams will be competing in the event. From 2026, the number of teams will be increased to forty-eight.

Smt. Neela Satyanarayan, First Election Commissioner of Maharashtra, passed away

Smt. Neela Satyanarayan, 1972 batch IAS officer and the first woman election commissioner of Maharashtra passed away due to coronavirus. She wrote over 150 songs for the Marathi movies and composed music for several movies.

Conference on Defence Manufacturing Technologies and Aerospace Inaugurated

Union Minister of State for Defence Shri Shripad Naik on July 15, inaugurated the conference on Defence Manufacturing Technologies and Aerospace. Theme of the conference was “Empowering India with Atma Nirbhar Bharat Mission”.

Tamil Nadu Technology Development Promotion Centre and Confederation of Indian Industry and Society of Indian Defence jointly organised the event. There are two defence industrial corridors proposed in the country, one is in Tamil Nadu and the other is in Uttar Pradesh.

Tunisian Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh resign

Tunisian Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh resigned from his post on July 15, 2020. He resigned after a dispute with Ennahdha party that had withdrawn its support for government earlier in the day. Fakhfakh writes his resignation to Tunisian President Kais Saied.

Iran officially denied dropping India from Chahbahar Port Project

Farhad Montaser, one of the deputy in Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization, said that Iran had never signed any deal with India for the construction of the Zahedan-Chabahar railway project. He clarified that “ Iran has only signed two agreements with Indians for investment in Chabahar: one is related to the port’s machinery and equipment, and the second is related to India’s investment to the tune of $150m.
