The duration of the BSc courses is three years for full-time courses. The duration may vary from four to five years in case students opt for a part-time or a distance learning/correspondence mode.
Eligibility Criteria for BSc Courses
The basic eligibility criteria for taking admission to BSc courses are as follows:

Candidates should pass Class 12 in the Science stream from a recognised board with the requisite aggregate.

Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subject combinations.

Generally, there is no age limit for pursuing BSc unless specified by an institute's eligibility criteria.
Admission Process for BSc Courses
The admission process for BSc courses is either merit-based or entrance-based. The process for both modes is explained below.
Merit-based Admission Process – The colleges declare a cutoff aggregate to be obtained in the Class 12 Board exam. Applicants would need to fulfil the eligibility criteria and cutoff to be granted admission to the college and BSc course of their choice.
Entrance-based Admission Process – As the name suggests, in this mode of admission, students have to appear for BSc entrance exams conducted for that particular course and college. Upon qualifying for the exam, the candidates will be called for counselling or final admission rounds.
