    On Seats

Q:   Can students with a minimum cutoff for B.Sc get a seat at AIIMS Bhubaneswar?

    A:

Candidates who meet or exceed the minimum cutoff rating are considered for further evaluation, which includes counseling sessions and seat allotment. However, it is important to note that due to the high level of competition, applicants with scores close to the minimum cutoff may face challenges in securing a seat. The final selection for admission to AIIMS Bhubaneswar is based on a merit list prepared by the institution. The merit list takes into account various factors such as the candidate's entrance exam score, their performance in counseling sessions, and other relevant criteria. Candidates with higher scores have a greater chance of securing a seat compared to those with scores near the minimum cutoff. It is crucial for aspiring students to aim for scores higher than the minimum cutoff to increase their chances of securing a seat at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Achieving a higher score can significantly enhance their ranking in the merit list and improve their chances of admission. In conclusion, while meeting the minimum cutoff score is an important eligibility requirement, it does not guarantee a seat at AIIMS Bhubaneswar due to the high level of competition. Candidates should strive to achieve higher scores to enhance their chances of securing a seat at this prestigious institution.

Absolutely satisfied with the course and the facilities provided.
Placements: Some of the students cleared their M.Sc. exams, some with Norcet, and the others who left provided jobs in AIIMS hospitals with 40,000 rupees per month. All students must complete a 6-month internship with a monthly salary of around 13,000 rupees. In this course, you can opt for working as a secondary nurse or communhealth nurse and pursue your postgraduate degree in different fields like critical care, community health nursing, obstetrics and gynecology, child health nursing, mental health nursing, oncology, cardiology, etc.
Infrastructure: Labs are present for each department with no Wi-Fi system in the college and a 5–6 lecture theater. Other libraries have good Wi-Fi systems with different study areas, like the e-library, which has around 50 computers in it, and other student study areas, reading rooms, faculty study areas, group study areas, etc. Hostels are quite good. Double rooms are provided to 1st year students, and after that, single rooms per person with an attached bathroom facility. Two dining halls are present, fully ventilated, and have 24-hour open service. Sports and games are organized from time to time, and for each sport, different playgrounds and courts are available.
Faculty: Teachers are all helpful, qualified, and have more than ten years of teaching experience. The course curriculum is relevant. Exams are held four times, with unit tests in between per subject each year. Three are sessional exams, and one is a professional exam.
Other: I chose the course because I had an interest in the medical profession. And also here, we connect with people who are in need of help and care. Caring for them provides another level of happiness for me. And this is the best thing about this course: that you provide selfless care to others. Events are held during regular periods. The main event of the college is Chiasma, and other fests are celebrated by the student committee under the name students association AIIMS Bhubaneswar'.

AIIMS provides all possible opportunities for the overall growth of students.
Placements: The 2018 batch had a total number of 60 students. From 2020, the number of seats increased to 75. It's a course offered by government, and the course fee is minimal, approximately 3,500 for 4 years, excluding the mess fee. After completing the course, you may apply for a contractual job that offers you a salary of 40,000, or you may go for higher studies like M.Sc. nursing. AIIMS Bhubaneswar is currently offering Ph.D. nursing courses also. You may also apply for Norcet for government nursing jobs. Internships are offered to all the students who studied at AIIMS, Bhubaneshwar, in its own hospital. One can be a nursing officer, community health officer, or tutor after M.Sc. nursing. Nursing is a noble profession, and AIIMS gives the best sources and opportunities for students' growth and development in subjects and skills.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in college but not in hostel. Hostel facilities are the best, and you will be provided with a single room in 3rd and 4th years. The classrooms are new with projectors and blackboards. Library facilities are present within the nursing college, and also a central library is available. A student can also afford the online library provided by the central library. In the second year, one room is to be shared by two students, with a common washroom. The mess provides different and healthy dishes. The mess food is quite affordable. The hostel provides a gymkhana with different timings for girls and boys. Tennis court, basketball ground, volleyball ground, and cricket ground are available on the hostel campus.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They teach in a very practical way. The teaching methods include clinical teaching, and it is the best. The course curriculum is relevant enough to make a student a competent nurse, and the students are prepared for the skill-based exam and can take exams to go abroad. Semester exams are moderate with respect to the classroom teachings, and the pass percentage is 50%.
Other: Medical is always a stream of choice for me. I was unable to get a government MBBS seat, so I opted for B.Sc. nursing at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. We get exposure to a vast number of patients, which makes us competent nurses, and it is the best thing. Co-curricular activities and fests like Chaisma and Evince are organised every year. Campus connectivity is good, and scholarships are provided to students of minority, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.

It is the best college ever if you want to come to the medical arena.
Placements: All the students passing from our college get placed in our hospital itself. Salaries offered are pretty well and most importantly we don't pay any fees for studying here. So it has an absolute value for money.
Infrastructure: Hostels are well furnished. Library and classrooms are all air-conditioned but Wi-Fi is not available for students here. The library is equipped with good books from all medical arena. We can even assess the library online. The food served is much better than other colleges. We are served chicken and paneer every day.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are excellent. The course curriculum is developed meticulously to help us in the future. AIIMS is autonomous so we are independent in our syllabus and exam which provides a standard over other colleges. Teachers stay inside the campus so help is always available.
Other: I opted for this course because it is a promising course and also something where you can go out to help others. Not only studies we are adjourned by fests, activities, competitions, and so on.
