Placement Cell for B.A. Courses at Amity University Kolkata

Unfortunately, according to the students' reviews, Amity University Kolkata does not offer placements for B.A. courses, particularly for Psychology majors. Students mentioned that the university does not provide placements for undergraduate programs, and instead, encourages students to find employment opportunities on their own.

However, students praised the faculty members' willingness to help with job searches, even going beyond their official duties. Faculty members would provide contacts and guidance to assist students in finding job opportunities.

A very renowned and good college, best in infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The highest - 32.51 lac per annum, the lowest - 4 lac per annum, average - 12 lac per annum. Top roles offered are counseling psychologists, research psychologists, educational psychologists, and forensic psychologists. Around 50% of students get internships in my course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at Amity University Kolkata is excellent. The classrooms, labs, and libraries are well-kept, spacious, and equipped with proper equipment. The canteen food is genuinely not that great but has good hygiene overall. There are also courts for games, medical facilities, printing facilities, ATMs, and a pool.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified, always free to help, and have adequate knowledge. The teaching quality is also very good, and interactions outside of studies are also undertaken. Semester exam difficulty is moderate and depends on students' efforts in their studies. The passing mark is 35 and above.

Amity Kolkata is a good university to enjoy your college life to the fullest.
Placements: You get good opportunities from Amity, with placements also available abroad. The college is very supportive of curricular activities and practical-based experience. We have the opportunity to opt for internships from the second year onward in our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is beautiful, except for the washrooms. The rest of the college is well-designed and has a good canteen. It also has an ATM inside and a Café Coffee Day. We have practical classrooms equipped with tools and assessments to practice with.
Faculty: A few faculty members are great, while some just come to read their own PDFs and never help us understand or clear our doubts. However, a few of them are understanding and supportive. Faculty members are generally enjoyable and friendly, and they help us organize events.
Other: I chose Amity because of the infrastructure and the fests it organizes. The campus has a swimming pool and a gym, along with its own ATM and four canteens, plus a Café Coffee Day!

Amity Kolkata, a good option for psychology?
Placements: Amity doesn't really provide the kind of placement they claim to provide, and especially for the course I have done, which is Psychology, there are no placements provided at all. In the Bachelor's course, they don't have any placement options to even sit for, and that's mostly because Psychology jobs require at least a Master's degree.
Infrastructure: The classrooms at Amity are amazing; they are well air-conditioned with whiteboards as well as cardboard. The library at Amity is average. There are not a lot of books available, but it’s okay. The food quality is good, and hostel facilities are fairly fine, but they’re very strict and expensive. Amity does have a sports club, and there are a lot of sports and games played there.
Faculty: The teachers here are Ph.D. holders or Ph.D. scholar students. They are moderately helpful and well-qualified but are only concerned about their syllabus. The course is relevant but not industry-ready because it is very theoretical and there is very little practical exposure provided. The exams at Amity are easy; you can pass if you fill your paper with even 2 or 3 proper answers because Amity follows a percentile system. So, it’s not very difficult to score.
Other: I chose this course because, in Kolkata, we don’t have a lot of good options for psychology, and other courses are fairly fine. They generally provide what they claim to provide, and it is a theoretical-based course, so that’s about it. There is an annual fest, Amiphoria, and there is an annual sports event, Sangathan. The crowd, infrastructure, and extracurricular activities at Amity are good. I would like to improve this course by adding more hands-on experience. We do have an internship that is provided and it is compulsory, but other than that internship, which lasts about six weeks to 2 months, there is no other practical exposure given.

Amazing college life with really good infrastructure .
Placements: B.A. (hons) German and French courses have next to no placement opportunities. The professors are extremely helpful and can provide useful connections to get a job; the college placement cell, on the other hand, provides placement to only certain courses, and B.A. (hons.) German or French isn't one of them, but the course structure and faculty provide in-depth learning, which is necessary to learn a language.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and campus of this college are beautiful. There are seminar rooms and labs that are well maintained. Every class has a podium and projector. The college has centralized air conditioning. The library is extremely big and has a vast variety of books in almost every genre and subject. Library is well maintained and quiet. The hostel is safe to stay, and there is no ragging, but it is a bit too costly. Food is good here but again too costly. Amity has a big sports complex and encourages people interested in sports. Equipment for almost all types of sports is available. Amity also hosts an annual sports meet, "Sangathan," which has free and fair selection grounds and is a good opportunity to enhance one's sportsmanship.
Faculty: The faculty in this course are extremely helpful, understanding, and knowledgeable. They will help you in every possible way so that you can learn the language well and have a strong base too. The professors provide practice papers, notes, and materials for the semester exams and provide every possible help. The course curriculum is very relevant, and it focuses mostly on speaking, grammar, and writing skills, which are the building blocks of foreign language learning. The semester exams are not that difficult and tick strictly to what the professors have taught, so if one does their own part of learning, then passing the exams isn't a problem.
Other: In today's time, the foreign language market is flourishing, but there isn't too much competition here, so one has a very good chance to bag a high-paying job without facing much difficulty, but learning a language is hard. This course provides the initial steps in learning German so that one can get a good college for masters or get a job. Everything about this course is good except the placement opportunities, but the professors help you with that. Campus Life is rich and exciting in Amity. The annual festival of Amity, "Amiphoria," hosts a huge number of competitions and includes a number of different colleges, so it is an extremely good chance to participate and experience. There are also DJ parties and a number of good local and international artists present in the festival, which makes it even more fun. Students scoring more than 93% in their ISC get a 100% scholarship, which is extended according to one's CGPA. Other scholarships are also available according to one's ISC score.

Satisfied because of the faculty, good infrastructure, and good hostel rooms but awful rules.
Placements: There sure are many companies that do visit the college but only in the past two years. Our department has been going through a wash-out drive wherein none of the students get selected for jobs by the available companies, which surely shows how they were not prepared enough to crack the job interview. It shows how the college lacks the ability to teach properly.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college, for sure, is too good, with air-conditioned classes, auditoriums and canteens, clean hostel rooms and washrooms. But the canteen food is average, and the hostel rules make living there very inconvenient, like no cooked meals allowed in the rooms, no iron, theater or kettles allowed, passes required to go outside the campus on with parents permission, sometimes even the HOD's permission, and sometimes even with all permission, one is not allowed to leave; time restrictions prevail. You can't leave your room after 10 p.m. to go get food from canteens, and so on. The medical rooms have 0% hygiene maintenance.
Faculty: Exam dates keep changing until the last minute. You may have an exam scheduled for a particular day and be informed on the same morning that your exam has been postponed. The teachers never complete the course on time nor do they ever provide proper notes. Practical skills are something that seriously needs to be focused on because the way you teach never prepares you for the industry. Pass percentage is still easy to achieve, as most teachers mark your face for the internals that are keeping in mind your class performance and not your exam performance.
Other: The course sure is very good and I have no complaints regarding it. The college lacks proper teaching faculty members for the subjects but has perfect subjects for the course. So anyone planning on joining this course will have to be prepared for putting in all the efforts from your end to prepare a good CV for yourself, as the college doesn't prepare you perfectly for everything but college life for sure is happening and exciting, with many clubs to join and many events to participate in and show off your talents and skills.

    Amity University Kolkata Review.
Placements: The NGO was arranged to give us placements only for internships. Placements aren't there as of now. But placements for Masters are there for political science students. Almost all students in our batch were placed on an internship for 1 month.
Infrastructure: Since political science did not need any labs, we were not able to go to any labs. I was a day scholar but as I heard from my hostel friends, hostels have AC rooms at an extra cost and food charges are extra, which are not included in the hostel's fee.
Faculty: Teachers were okay. They were easily approachable and most of them had a degree with them. They were very helpful when it came to clearing doubts and issues. Classroom teaching was also up to par and followed a strict standard procedure for every semester.

    * Helpful and qualified teachers, with some exceptions
    * Relevant course curriculum, making students industry-ready
    * Opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, events, and fests
    * Good campus atmosphere and surroundings

    Cons:

    * Limited placements and internship opportunities for B.A. students (only 30% of students got placed)

While Amity University Kolkata has impressive infrastructure and faculty, the lack of placements and internship opportunities for B.A. students raises concerns.
