    General: 512
    OBC: 486
    SC: 419

Q:   What is the selection process for B Sc. and what is the minimum ICAR AIEEA percentile required?

    A:

A minimum percentage on the qualifying examination (in this case, 10+2) is often one of the eligibility criteria that must be met in order to proceed with the B.Sc. selection process. In addition, applicants typically have to take an entrance exam; for B.Sc. programs, the appropriate exam is typically the ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission). The minimal ICAR AIEEA percentile needed varies depending on the college or university. It is common for the percentile requirement to be arbitrary, based on variables such as the exam's difficulty level and the overall number of applicants. To obtain precise and current information about the necessary ICAR AIEEA percentile, it is recommended that you review the specific admission requirements of the university that is offering the B.Sc. program

    A:

Bihar Agricultural University (BAU) offers a B Sc programme to a variable number of students each year; however, the range is usually between 150 and 200. The number of applicants and the number of seats available in the course determine this number.

Here is a breakdown of the number of seats available for B Sc. at BAU in the 2023 academic year:

    • Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, Bhagalpur: 60
    • Nalanda College of Horticulture, Bihar Agricultural University: 25
    • Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Bihar Agricultural University: 60

Every year at BAU, the number of applicants for the B Sc programme varies, but it typically hovers between 500 and 1000. This indicates that there is fierce competition for available seats.

At BAU, the cutoff for B Sc. is likewise fairly high. The cutoffs for the 2023 academic year were 512 for the General category, 486 for the OBC category, 419 for the SC category, and 382 for the ST category.

Good college for agriculture education and also for farmers training.
Placements: Very good college for knowledge and secure jobs in future prospects. The average package is 6 LPA per year. Nearly 70 percent of students were placed, and many students go for higher education. Startup programs are also offered by Bihar Startup Cell to help students start their own business.
Infrastructure: Well-infrastructured college, with a good-looking campus and good hostel facilities. The hostel has well-neat and clean rooms and bathrooms. There is full Wi-Fi coverage across the campus. The library is also well-stocked with all study materials for running courses according to their curriculum.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-knowledgeable and experienced. They also guide students for higher studies programs and competitive examinations. Faculty members use simple language to teach the students, easily solving their problems at any time. They also take extra classes for weaker students.
Other: This course is better than other courses because, nowadays, the population is increasing and agricultural land is decreasing. We have challenges to face because of this.

Overall disciplined college with good infrastructure and other facilities but bad placement.
Placements: This college does not have a placement cell. However, if we are proactive and keep an eye on upcoming placements, we are able to get a placement through the university. Students are expected to study on their own with guidance from the faculty in order to pursue their goal of a better future.
Infrastructure: The campus consists of a main academic building, a library, and a guest house with separate accommodations for guests and parents. The campus also has separate hostels for girls and boys. Each hostel room has a bed, chair, table, and cupboard. The hostels are equipped with fans, light bulbs, and a smart classroom. The campus has a playground, gym, auditorium, multipurpose hall, storehouse, field, greenhouse, polyhouse, principal's residence, and staff residence. The campus also has Wi-Fi, a bus for educational trips, and a farm for hands-on learning. But the college is in a village-type area, so there is no Swiggy, Zomato, or Dominos facility yet. However, other online delivery is available, like Myntra, Flipkart, and nearby restaurants. There is no dispensary on campus yet, but there is an ambulance facility for medical emergencies. Overall, the college is good, studies are taken seriously, and the environment is strict and disciplined.
Faculty: The teachers are well educated and talented, and they are also friendly. The courses get completed on time, and the mid-semester exams are quite easy because the papers are set internally with respect to the final/end-semester paper. There is an attendance criterion of 75%, which is necessary to receive a stipend and to attend exams.
Other: Various events and festivals are celebrated here with joy. Intercollege sports and cultural events are also held by the university.

College gives stipend of Rs.2000 per month.
Placements: Generally, agriculture is another a good course if you want to get placements. Placements here are average, generally, software and agricultural companies visit this college. Do not prefer this college if you want placements. If you want a job from the college then opt for computer Science and other branches. If you are passionate then come here.
Infrastructure: Hostel is a good and the university has all the basic infrastructure and is in a developing mode. A new building is constructed. Infrastructure is improving day by day. One of the biggest indoor stadiums is under construction on our campus. I think this university has good opportunities to develop.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, especially new courses have great and enthusiastic teachers. We have a semester here. Young teachers are good. We Also have old teachers working for 30 years 40 years and they are not up to the mark as they are still using old-based technique. They need to change their mindset.
Other: I chose this course because of interest in agriculture. I would recommended this course if you have an interest in it.
