B.Sc. (Food Microbiology, Safety and Quality Control) - Batch of 2025

Dissatisfied with the hostel and department lab.
Placements: A minimum of 50% of students get internships. Food industry and microbiology labs are referred for internship. Jubilant, Niftem, Nescafe, Haldiram, Coca Cola, Patanjali. Some also refer to the liquor industry as well. If your performance is good, then they keep you permanently.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good, labs are not good, classrooms are not good, and the library is very good. Hostel food is average, and rooms are okay, but the washrooms are very small, especially the girls' hostel washrooms. The canteen is very hygienic, very small, and doesn't have much to offer.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified but don't have much interest in teaching. The course curriculum is relevant, but it is mostly about working in the lab. But labs are not good; they don't have good equipment and chemicals to work with. Everything is expired and of bad quality.

The curriculum of my college is good.
Placements: The college claims to have tie-ups with big companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and TCS, but they failed to provide placements in those companies. This year, they managed to place only 5-10 students out of 360, which is less than 5%. This is something that needs to be addressed.
Infrastructure: It is a good college for lower-class students. The college offers a variety of courses at minimal cost. The faculty members are very good and supportive, and the college hosts a variety of events such as Indradhanush, Sportszilla, and Ambassadors.
Faculty: The curriculum is not very difficult. If we start studying a week before exams, we will definitely score good marks. The infrastructure is good but a little older. However, they are upgrading it. This year, they managed to place only 5-10 students out of 360, which is less than 5%. This is something that needs to be addressed.

Take admission at your own risk.
Placements: My experience at my college was underwhelming. The placement rate for my course was round 60-70%, with average packages falling short of expectations. Overall, the College needs to improve its career support and industry connections for better student outcome.
Infrastructure: Facilities at my college are lacking. Classrooms are outdated, Wi-Fi is unreliable, and labs lack essential equipment. The washrooms are really untidy, food is land, no hostel facilities, and medical facilities are minimal. Overall, the infrastructure needs significant improvement.
Faculty: The faculty at my college is generally helpful and knowledgeable, though teaching qualities varies. The curriculum is relevant but could better prepare students for industry demands. Semester exams were moderate challenging, with a pass percentage around 60%. Overall, it? S a mixed experience.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Batch of 2024

College should work on lab facilities, they should be equipped well.
Placements: Only 11 students are in the B.Sc Biotech. The basic salary package offered is 2 LPA. Around 5 students secured internships. Top roles offered are biotechnologist and drug designer. If anyone chooses to do a Master's in bioinformatics then the IT sector is open for them.
Infrastructure: Everything is good. According to me, labs and college infrastructure are not good, they require improvement and maintenance. Air conditioners should be installed in every classroom. Lab facilities need to be equipped well. Only one or two students got placed and I think colleges should focus more on the placement part.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and very cooperative. They are always ready to support students. Semester exams are very tough but good from a knowledge perspective. B.Sc. Biotech courses prepare students industry-ready. Even though it is not easy to get a job, we can't blame college for it. We need to put intensive efforts into getting into the job in the industrial stream.
Other: Best thing about our course is its high demand. There should be more internship opportunities available. Other aspects are good. Labs need to be modified more nicely. The quality of the microscope should be improved.

Bachelor's in Hospitality and Hotel Administration - Batch of 2025

A perfect place for hospitality leaders.
Placements: Almost everyone gets placements, but it's optional if you don't want to get placement. The lowest package is about 25k per month, and the max we got is Rs 120k per annum. Companies like Marriott, Le Meridien, New Eros, The Park, and Radisson all have placements in 5-star hotels and in cruise and international as well.
Infrastructure: As per facilities, we have everything here, including a basic training kitchen for freshers, an advanced training kitchen for seniors, and a Wi-Fi library, and a smart class is also available. Hostels are both AC/non-AC and single to 3 persons. Mess is in-house, as this is a hospitality college. All the food is prepared in the college itself with quality control.
Faculty: All the faculty are well experienced from the industry, and no doubt they teach flawlessly, ready to help every time when needed. Semester exams are now easier because of changes in NCHMCT affiliation. Now it is affiliated with JNU; before it was IGNOU.

The infrastructure is average .
Placements: I'll be honest with you, this is a government college and it does not provide any placements at all. I wasn't offered any placement, and I'm confident that no one else was either, as there is no placement cell. There is a BBA department, so maybe they provide placements to their students.
Infrastructure: I'm not sure if the college provides any hostel facilities as I've never looked for a hostel room. The infrastructure of the college, in my opinion, is good. There should be some development in the labs as the lab equipment used to be very old. However, the classrooms are good.
Faculty: The faculty of our department was good; they were supportive in many ways and they absolutely knew how to motivate their students regarding their future. There used to be many professors for one subject. The faculty was extraordinary; they knew how to teach.
Other: Well, our batch was quite friendly. There used to be a hundred students in one section, and they were all very friendly and kind. Also, the course is a general degree. In my course, there were three subjects: Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry.

Q:   I have scored less than 50% in 12th boards. Can I get admission for B.Sc in CCSU?

A:

The minimum eligibility requirement for BSc admission at CCSU is a pass in Class 12 or equivalent exam. But meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an admission at the university. Candidates must have studied relevant Science subjects in Class 12, depending upon their chosen specialisation. The eligibility criteria may vary across the specialisations. For Computer Science specialisation, the candidate must have scored at least 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ST) in Class 12. Hence, candidates must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria specified for their desired specialisation. If a candidate fails to secure a seat at CCSU for BSc, they can explore other colleges/universities offering the course. They can also pursue the course through a college/university offering online BSc courses.
