CMAT Admission Process 2025

CMAT admission process includes Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The CMAT score is accepted by many popular government and private colleges in India. These institutes determine CMAT cut offs for shortlisting candidates. The B-Schools conduct GD/PI individually to select candidates for 2-year full time MBA/PGDM programmes. At many B-Schools, Essay Writing is conducted instead of Group Discussion. To participate in the admission round, CMAT qualifiers should fill the admission forms of their preferred institute on time.

MBA admission through CMAT includes three main processes:

Candidate shortlisting through CMAT score
Essay Writing/GD/PI round
Final selection for MBA/PGDM admission

Aspirants must note that NTA has no role in MBA admission through CMAT.

CMAT Syllabus 2025

CMAT exam syllabus is prescribed by the AICTE. It is similar to other MBA entrance exams, but has one extra subject, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. this subject was introduced in 2020. Given below are the main components of CMAT 2025 syllabus.

CMAT Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation syllabus: Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Time-Speed-Distance, Alligation & Mixtures, Geometry, Graph, Quadratic and Linear Equations, Tables & Cjarts, Bar Graphs, etc.
CMAT Logical Reasoning syllabus: Analytical Reasoning, Linear Arrangements, Number Series, Matrix Arrangements, Blood Relationship Tests, Coding-Decoding, Family Tree, Clocks and Calendars, etc.
CMAT Language Comprehension syllabus: Reading Comprehension, Grammar, English Usage Errors, Fill in the Blanks, Antonym & Synonym, Idioms, Word Meaning, Vocabulary, Parajumbles, etc.
CMAT General Awareness syllabus: Economy, Business, World, Politics, Sports, Culture, Society, Personalities, Awards, Art, Entertainment, Books, Culture, Society, Science & Tech.

CMAT Exam Pattern 2025

Since CMAT is a pan India test for MBA admission, the language of exam is English. Ir is conducted at designated test centres. Check below key highlights of the latest CMAT exam pattern.

CMAT Marking Scheme 2025

For every correct answer 4 marks will be awarded
For every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted
There will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions
Every section will carry 100 marks
Total marks of CMAT 2025 will be 400

CMAT Preparation 2025

For CMAT 2025 preparation, candidats must focus maily on practicing sample questions and CMAT mock tests. CMAT has the same syllabus as other MBA entrance exams, such as Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Data Interpretation an General Awareness. It has only one extra subject - Innovation and Entrepreneurship but it can be handled with basic preparation. Since CMAT is conducted after CAT and XAT, candidates can use their preparation and experience of these exams to crack CMAT easliy.

If a candidates plans tp appear for only CMAT then they will have to start preparation 6 months before the exam. The CMAT exam preparation plan should include:

Covering CMAT syllabus
Practicing mock tests and sample papers
Revision of important topics

1. Covering CMAT syllabus

CMAT syllabus is similar to other MBA entrance exams. It includes Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge. CMAT has an additional subject called Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Candidates must start CMAT preparation 2025 by starting with the tougher topics first. Once they are thorough with the tough topics they should move to easier topics. However, the key is to keep a balance between tough and easy topics in such a way that easy subjects don't get sidelined for tough ones. The main focus however, should be on CMAT topics from which maximum questions are asked.

For Innovation and Entrepreneurship section, refer to CMAT question papers from 2020 onwards. Now, books for this section are also available in the market. You can also look for notes and guidance in online study forums.

3. Revision of important topics

CMAT 2025 exam preparation is incomplete until the candidate has a strong hold on every topic included in the syllabus. To have a complete control, you need to constantly revise the topics and processes that you've been studying for solving various types of questions. Thus, keep aside an hour every day for revision of topics that you study on a particular day. In the last 15-20 days before the CMAT 2025 exam, dedicate maximum time on revision of the CMAT syllabus so that everything is fresh in memory on the exam day. CMAT Admit Card 2025

CMAT 2025 admit card has been released CMAT-NTA website. Candidates can download the CMAT admit card 2025 using their login credentials. Given below is the process to download CMAT admit card 2025 from the NTA website:

Visit the CMAT-NTA website: cmat.nta.nic.in
Click on 'CMAT 2025 Admit Card' tab
Enter application number and date of birth
Click on 'submit' to log in to your account
Fill the self declaration form to go to the admit card page

CMAT Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for the CMAT exam 2025 will have to follow certain guidelines at the examination centre. Exam day guidelines will be mentioned in their CMAT 2025 admit card. Here are some key CMAT exam day instructions:

Candidates will have to carry two print outs of their CMAT 2025 admit card. Digital, scanned or photocopy of the admit card will not be accepted as a valid document.
They will have to reach the CMAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned in CMAT admit card 2025. The test centre gates will close 15 minutes before the commencement of exam and no entry will be allowed after that.
Candidates will have to carry a black/blue ball point pen for signing the attendance sheet.They will also have to carry two passport size photographs to affix on the CMAT 2025 admit card and attendance sheet.
Electronic items such as phone, wrist watch, pager, calculator, Ipad, etc. will be prohibited at the exam venue.
Candidates must not carry bags or valuables. Nothing apart from the documents and ball pen will be allowed inside the exam centre. There will be no provision to deposit bags at the CMAT test centre.
Along with CMAT 2025 admit card, candidates will have to carry a photo ID as a secondary identity proof, such as:
- Aadhaar card
- PAN card
- Voter ID card
- Passport
- Driver’s license
- College/University ID card
Candidates must carry the original copy of the photo ID proof.
Exam duration is 180 minutes. No candidate will be allowed to leave the test lab during the exam. Exit will be allowed only after the time is up and invigilator announces the exit process.
Candidates will be supposed to follow all the instructions and guidelines as announced at the test centre and during the CMAT 2025 exam.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2025

Applicants need to meet the following eligibility criteria for appearing in the CMAT exam 2025:

Candidate must have graduation (in any stream) or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for CMAT 2025.
There is no minimum score percentage criteria in graduation for CMAT exam. Only passing marks is required.
MBA colleges accepting CMAT score may have minimum score criteria of 50 percent and 45 percent.
There is no upper age limit for CMAT. Anybody at any phase of their career can appear for CMAT.

CMAT Registration 2025

CMAT registration cum application form 2025 is available at the CMAT-NTA website. Aspirants can fill the CMAT form by creating a login ID. Given below is the process of CMAT 2025 registration:

Go to NTA-CMAT website: https://exams.nta.ac.in/CMAT/
Register by entering name, date of birth, email ID and phone number
Create CMAT account and user ID by confirming registration via OTP/e-mail
Fill the CMAT application form 2025 by furnishing personal and academic details
Upload passport size photo and scanned signature in prescribed format
Pay the CMAT registration fees via credit/debit card or internet banking

CMAT Test Centres and Cities 2025

CMAT exam 2025 will be held in about 124 cities of India. Aspirants can choose up to four locations in the CMAT application form for test centre allotment. The CMAT 2025 test centre will be allotted in the city of first preference. Candidates must make test city selection carefully as once the admit card is released, no changes will be allowed in the CMAT test centre.
