Not a great experience - Gangadhar Meher University.
Placements: There are very less placement opportunities for B.Com students in this college. The students from other streams enjoy benefits when it comes to placement. Different tech companies including Deloitte, Accenture, Infosys, Dell, etc., offer campus placements here.
Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure, including computer labs, a library, smart classrooms, and conference halls. The college also organizes sports competitions and programs on a yearly and quarterly basis. There is also a canteen inside the college premises, but the food quality there is not up to the mark.
Faculty: The teachers and faculty members are qualified and well-educated, but when it comes to a government college, they behave completely differently. The teaching quality is below average. The teachers here are arrogant and rude at times. The semester exams are pretty easy, and the pass percentage of students is around 78%.
Other: The only reason for me to choose B.Com at Gangadhar Meher University is the distance. The college is hardly 15 minutes away from my place, so it becomes very easy to reach.

Things to know about GMU before taking admission.
Placements: I am one of the students in batches 21–24. The university manages a placement cell for students and tries to place 100% of every batch. Companies come for placement quite often and the package offered is pretty decent. The university tries it's level hardest to provide every student with a good package.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities offered are quite impressive, and even the meals provided in the mess are quite good. The hostel offers a mess facility to the boarders and the mess menu is also quite flexible and can be customized as per the border preference.
Faculty: Faculty members who teach at the college are well educated and knowledgeable. Their teaching style is also quite impressive. The university is quite serious about its exams and curriculum and that is being conducted from time to time. The university takes several preventive measures to prevent cheating and for that, it has installed CCTV cameras everywhere and appointed a supervision committee.

not satisfied with placement.
Placements: GMU is one of the best university for students in sambalpur and it is also approved by UGC. The highest package offered is upto 2.3 LPA. Don't know about the recruiting companies but after the course banks like SBI hdfc and companies like aditya birla or vedanta give offers to students to work with them to earn and as well as learn.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and other facilities are provided by the university. It provides faculty members of Wi-Fi, library good canteen experiments labs and many others facilities to improve skills. Hostel rooms are also provided for students with B.Ed. If you go for sports the college provides good facilities for sports many state level sports are also held in GMU.
Faculty: Teacher, lecturers and the professors are highly qualified. Their teaching techniques are good and helpful. If your go for course curriculum it is 50-50 relevant as per me. For me semester exams are a bit difficult but still u pass with good percentage.
Other: If you want to study in sambalpur then you should go for GMU. It can be better with yop companies recruitment and placement but overall it is okay.

I personally love the garden area of my college because of its green surroundings.
Placements: I was a B.Com. student at Gangadhar Meher University, and there were average placements going on after our B.Com. was over. Like Aditya Birla Group, Hindalco, Tata Power, etc. With an average package of 2.5 LPA. Many students were getting placed, and many of my batchmates preferred further studies like CA, CS, etc. The roles offered to the students were those of accountants, managing bills for raw materials, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Gangadhar Meher University has become better than before. We have a very huge library, too. There are 3 hostels for boys and 2 for girls, which are in good condition. The food quality is also very good. They serve non-vegetarian food every weekend for non-vegetarians, and paneer or mushrooms for vegetarians. Our college also conducts various sports and games like cricket, football, and many more at the college level and also at the intercollegiate level.
Faculty: The teachers and faculty members of Gangadhar Meher University are very helpful and cooperative in nature. They stand beside you for every help you need from them, whether it's for studies, sports, or extracurricular activities that they are good at. They also teach us in a very interesting way so that every student becomes industry-ready while getting out after completing his or her B.Com. journey here. Semester exams are not really hard for those who study well. But our college has approximately a 95% pass percentage, and the rest are those students who were not able to appear for the exams due to certain reasons.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to be good at accounting and the business world. It's actually better than doing a BBA because we can learn about both accounting and business here. But according to me, the classes should be done more regularly as compared to now. Gangadhar Meher University conducts various events, including college festivals, hostel festivals, extracurricular activities, and sports, throughout the year, with which a student can participate in any activity he or she wants. Our campus is surrounded by trees from 360 degrees. It is in the main town, so there is no transportation problem at all.

One of the Reputed and best university in western Odisha.
Placements: Students must score more than 75% to take admission in B.Com. The highest package is 5 to 7 lac per annum, average package is 3 to 5 lac per annum and the lowest package is 1.25 to 2 lac per annum. Top recruitment companies are Infosys, TCS, TPW, hidalco, reliance, and other companies. There is no internship provided by college.
Infrastructure: There is good infrastructure in college, free wi-fi is provided to students, no digital class but good furnished class were provided with good faculty members with labrotory for practical class, good library. Hostel is also provided to students with foods 3 times a day and other facilities.
Faculty: Teacher were well qualified and very helpful to students. Takes regular classes and regular test of different subjects. There is timely completion of syllabus before the semester examination. The semester examinations are as tough as other colleges and passing percentage is 35%.
Other: The reason of choosing this college is the it is a government college have different clubs and society for students joining and the organisation like NCC and NSS also available.

Very glad to be a student of this college.
Placements: About 25% of students who were willing to work were taken by companies that approached our university. Seminars were conducted by recruiting companies to raise awareness of the working environment. Very frequently, placement was done by giving prior notice.
Infrastructure: There is enormous infrastructure at our college. Cleanliness was maintained on our campus. There were 4 to 5 hostels on the college premises and allotment to students in hostels was done on the basis of your 12th grade percentage or your category. The food was not so good, though.
Faculty: According to me, teachers were not very cooperative. There is a huge language barrier and the head of our department is not ready to listen to any student. Only a few teachers were concerned about students opinions. Semester exams are quite difficult. It needs preparation.
Other: I chose this course because I am a commerce student and I think this will help me in my future activities and in my career too. Hostel food needs to be improved and needs better' sanitation because problems are faced by vegetarian students. There is full enjoyment at the festival.
