B.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2027
Offered by Government College, Dharamshala
3.6

Review of Government College, Dharamshala.
Placements: I am enrolled in B.Sc. Honours biotechnology. The placements are not good, as you have to do a master's to get placements in good companies. This course offers research, biotechnologist, forensics, and many varieties of courses once you go for a master's. In Masters you have a variety of career options.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure, especially the biotechnology department, is average. The lab is average, which is the center point of this course, as you have to learn and master the techniques to become a biotechnologist. There are various types of machines available here in the department, but they are old, and some do not work properly. The professors are trying their best to teach the students with what they have and to get the new machines and instruments in the department. The canteen is there in college; it is neat and clean, and the food prepared here is also good in taste and is hygienic. Sports and games are also there. NCC, NSS, and the Rangers and Rovers units are in college. Many NCC cadets from this college are officers in the army, and many cadets have paraded on Rajpath.
Faculty: The professors of the biotechnology department are helpful and highly qualified. They put a lot of effort into teaching the students, even helping students deal with mental pressure. The course is relevant; it makes the students industry-ready, as biotechnology is all about finding the new technologies and techniques that help and make human life easy. The course is annual, and HPU sets the exam. Exams are not too difficult or too easy; they are average.
Other: In biotechnology you have to do a master's. So doing a B.Sc. in Biotechnology from this college is worth it. The fee is not too much; it is affordable. Scholarship is there; many events are organized in the college auditorium. Campus is not crowded.

B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) - Batch of 2027
Offered by Government College, Dharamshala

Average Infrastructure Facilities, Poor Placements, but Good Faculty.
Placements: As my course is B.Sc., hardly any students get placed or get any type of job. The highest package is as high as 3.2 LPA and the least up to 2.1 LPA, but it is very difficult to get placed after B.Sc. Here, hardly any companies visit for this course. No students get any kind of internship. The top role offered in my course is assistant teacher.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not at all good. Buildings are not maintained from ages. During rain, water comes inside. Labs are quite good, and well-equipped equipment is present. The library is present, and the sitting arrangement is quite good. Hostels are very less; only some students get a hostel. The college has its own mess and canteen, and the quality of food is just fine for eating, not good but not bad. No medical facilities are provided, and sports facilities in college are quite good.
Faculty: Here, some teachers are very good and very helpful at tough times, but some teachers are very bad and have anger issues. Their teaching quality is not so good; they just deliver the lectures. The curriculum is not at all relevant here. Passing the exams is a bit tricky, and students find it difficult to pass the exams. The pass percentage of the college is around 33 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I want to opt for higher education and, for that, to clear out JAM for M.Sc. So I chose this college as it is nearby my home and for time management. For improving this course, a better relevant syllabus and better teachers should be there. Everyday in college, events are happening, and many other extracurricular activities are happening in the college.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Batch of 2023
Offered by Vallabh Government College
2.8

Budget friendly college but not good for knowledge.
Placements: 60% and above students get placed. There are no guaranteed placements and no policy for them. No recruiting companies came to our college for recruitment. 0% of students got internships from my course. Top roles are even something I learned about after completing my graduation.
Infrastructure: Good rooms with facilities and good faculty staff with great rules and infrastructure. Good and peaceful environment. Hostel affair are sorted lately but surely we still need some room facilities, fans, bedding, etc. There was not too much of interference by the staff.
Faculty: Only a handful of teachers are helpful with passion and knowledge The course curriculum is just for display; no such knowledge is given to us. They told us to just cream and give assignments. In the average case, anyone can cram a book in 3 days.
Other: I was always interested in Physics and decided to continue it. more practical education case Physics is conceptual and vast. Just doing some derivation on a piece of paper doesn't going to take you anywhere. Teachers should provide a topic a day before, tell their students to prepare it or do research on the topic for logical reasoning for the next day. Should provide scholarship tests for those who can't pay for it. Better studying environment, like when it gets so hot in the class and students can't concentrate on their studies.

Good infrastructure and faculty at Vallabh Government Mandi.
Placements: Placements are promised in our college. We get a degree in the course after completing the final year. It provides a lot of experience and knowledge.
Infrastructure: There is a library which has two big rooms. They are in very good condition. Labs are available for chemistry, physics, botany, chemistry, and zoology students where they have every suitable instrument for experiments. Wi-Fi is also available. Classrooms are big and have smart televisions also.
Faculty: Teachers are very nice. Students are comfortable talking about their problems. Teachers are helpful. They are knowledgeable and qualified. They teach students in a friendly manner. They conduct classes regularly. The curriculum is relevant. They conduct tests from time to time. The final exams are average. The pass percentage is about 68%.
Other: Our college is a lot of fun. Our college organises events from time to time and provides a lot of knowledge and fun. We participate in college events and do our best with a lot of fun and experience. There is also a science exhibition program.

Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College Solan Kumarhatti.
Placements: I am studying the medical imaging technology course, in which we learn about X-ray machines, CT, and MRI. The offers for jobs are maximum from foreign countries. The average package of a technician is about 50,000 per annum. It is a very useful course.
Infrastructure: The college campus is fully computerized, and Wi-Fi is available in the respective classrooms and library. There is also availability of labs for various tests such as LFT, CBC, and much more. The sports committee is very good, cooperative, and caring.
Faculty: All our professors, associate professors, tutors, and the head of the department are well-educated, cooperative, and have a very helpful nature towards the students. In this college, a semester system is applied, meaning exams are taken by the college management every six months.
Other: I chose this course because it was very interesting and full of knowledge. In this course, we studied about all the machines used in hospitals.

This college is only good for those who just want a degree.
Placements: It's a degree college, so no placement is promised here. You yourself have to work hard after getting a degree. Even in order to get passing marks, you have to study by yourself; no teacher will help you, they can guide you but won't help you. No placement or secured future is promised here.
Infrastructure: Talking about infrastructure, this college needs more rooms and washrooms. Labs can be modified according to the latest technology. Every classroom should be airy, big, and have smart class technology. Classrooms at least should have proper fans and lights. Classrooms and washrooms are never clean. Talking about hostel facilities, it's fine, but more rooms are needed.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, no doubt, but they need to interact with students. There are many extracurricular activities which I personally like a lot. Talking about exams, they’re moderate, but examiners are not good. Exams are conducted under SPU (Sardar Patel University), and SPU staff does not care about students. They fail many students every year.
Other: This college can improve its infrastructure and must focus on hygiene.
