JIS University BTech Lateral Scholarship Scheme for the State of Tripura
The university will provide BTech Lateral Scholarship Scheme to students getting admission in BTech (LE) course and belonging to the state of Tripura. Check below the highlights of the BTech Lateral Scholarship Scheme:

Alumni Scholarship for Group Institutions
The university offers a 20% alumni scholarship on tuition fees to students. Check below the criteria to apply for the scholarship:
Scholarship criteria: A degree/diploma course from any of the institutions under JIS Group and admission in a second degree course in any of the institutions under JIS Group including JIS University from the academic year 2020-21 onwards (BBA to MBA, BSc to MSc/ MBA, BTech to MBA or if any) is required.
Note: A student can avail any one kind of scholarship and will not be able to combine one scholarship with other.
- Diploma to BTech (LE)
A scholarship of INR 10,000 per semester is applicable only to the students who have studied their three years Diploma in Engineering in any of the institutions under the JIS Group. Students get a total scholarship of INR 60,000.
Terms & Conditions
- Any kind of scholarship/ teaching assistantship is liable to be withdrawn, partially or wholly, in case of misconduct, deliberate concealment of materials or supply of false information or continued absence of more than one month except on medical grounds.
- Scholarships/ teaching assistantships are liable to be reduced or terminated for a duration of up to one semester on account of poor academic performance or not completing the assigned tasks in a satisfactory manner.

Placements: Every year, mostly 60-70% of students of the batch get placed. The highest package offered for the 2024 batch was 12 LPA, and the lowest was 2.5 LPA. The average package for the CSE branch is 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, TCS, Accenture, and Capgemini. Top roles offered are junior software developer and junior software tester.
Placements: This college's placement committee and campus facilities are organized every year. In this course, there are a total of 4 batches, with a total of 300 students across the 4 batches. This college is providing 3 Lacs to 6 Lacs monthly salary, and multiple companies are interested in the college.
Placements: Only about 3 to 2% of atudents get placed in an actual good company from campus placements, Most others have to apply for jobs off campus. Given The skill set of students considering only the skills taught in JIS university, are laughable in today standards when applying for a job, thus most students have to learn very basic yet fundamentals skills necessary to get a job themselves. Placements: I've been offered placements via emails. They notify me and tell the selected students to fill out the job application and go for an interview. Only 3 students from my class out of 22 were selected for placement, but I'm studying microbiology. The companies were offering jobs in my field, such as Maruti Suzuki sales executive role or BPO call center role, which are completely opposite of my selected course.
Placements: Not many people are placed after B.Sc. If you develop skills and gain knowledge, you will definitely be good. If you want to get opportunities, they are given after you complete M.Sc. Many people are placed from our seniors into reputed companies. The lowest package offered is 2.5 LPA, the average is 3.5-4.5 LPA, and the highest can go 7-10 LPA. Placements: Even after completing an MBA, the salary is 45k per month out of state. After BBA, the salary ranges from 12k to 15k per month. The recruiters are from TCS, Infosys, and Cognizant.
