Strong placement opportunities and supportive faculty at Kannur University.

Placements: While doing my M.Sc. physics in advanced materials in 2022, around 80-90% of students got placed. Packages varied very much, ranging from about 10 LPA - 3.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Major recruiters for my course included some of the biggest names such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and some research organizations that majorly recruit students for research, data analysis, and software development work. Almost 40-50% of students got internships at several organizations such as DRDO, ISRO, and other private research organizations for hands-on experience in their specific areas of research.

Infrastructure: Kannur University's M.Sc. physics department has adequate infrastructure with Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, modern labs with all sorts of advanced instruments for experiential work, and a comprehensive library continuing vast resources in physics and related fields. The hostel facilities are generally satisfactory, clean, and spacious rooms with a secure environment. The mess provides decent varieties of food though quality varies. The canteen provides snacks and refreshments. On campus, there are medical facilities along with sports amenities like cricket and football fields. There are indoor games. It ensures that students are healthy and active.

Faculty: Faculty members of the M.Sc. physics in advanced materials program at Kannur University is highly qualified and knowledgeable. Many of them hold higher degrees and also have good experience in research. Faculty members are approachable and provide invaluable support to students. With such a faculty, education comes at a high standard. The curriculum itself was designed in such a way as to be relevant with a proper mingling of theoretical and practical concepts. Students are well-prepared for all the demands of the industry. Semester exams are quite rigorous and demanding. Though it does demand a pretty good hold on material, the pass percentage remains in flavor, though normal passes are 75-80%. This also stands to show the method followed over there and the student preparation for taking the exam.

I like the hostel food very much.

Placements: As the course is M.Sc. Physics there is not so much campus placement opportunity yet some ed-teach companies like Byjus come here to take students. Here in the department, more focus is on research and to do Ph.D. not on job placement. So think twice before taking this course.

Infrastructure: The University hostel has almost all the facilities like reading areas, playing grounds, kitchen, mess, etc. The food was really good and they include veg and non-veg food according. Hostel admission based on the allotment process depends on distance from home and the entrance exam rank. The hostel fee is affordable, it is around 2500 rupees for a month. The University hostel is located inside the campus. Hostel Fee: INR 27600 per year.

Faculty: The syllabus is very interesting, and the faculty members in the Physics Department are very talented. The faculty members and student ratio is 72:6. Those faculty members become a Ph.D. This college conducted three types of internal exams it's are improve our confidence level in the face of university exams. Class size is 60 and course fees is INR 15000 per year.

I collected best memories from this college.

Placements: A lot of companies visit the campus for placements and students are eligible to sit it in their final or pre-final semester of the course. Companies like Akash, Byjus, Chegg, Havells, have visited the campus for placements for various posts like research assistant, business analyst, project manager, and subject matter expert etc. The highest package was around INR 15 LPA for the post of data Science and average package were more than INR 5 LPA for the profiles like research assistant and subject matter expert.

Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are okay. Don't expect too much from the hostel staff. There are no air conditioners in the room and majority of the rooms are in sharing and there are no attached toilets, students have to use a common washroom, Wi-Fi facility is also not available.

Faculty: A Master's of Chemistry is a course that opens so many opportunities in different sectors. I personally want to join FSSAI as a junior food analyst for which I need to have a Master's degree in Chemistry or biochemistry or microbiology. The faculty of Chemistry at campus is average. The faculty is well trained and qualified, out of which 90% are Ph.D. and postdoc holders having experience of more than 5 to 7 years.

Best college In India for M.Sc.

Placements: Our college is mainly known for its placements internships. In the 4th semester of their graduation, students become eligible for campus placements. Various companies offered placements like TCS, WALLMART and Wipro. The highest salary package is of 25 Lacs per annum and the lowest package is of 12 Lacs per annum. The average salary package was of 18 Lacs per annum. Almost 60% of the students got placement internships. After my degree, I would like to research in the field of space quantum.

Infrastructure: The hostels and college infrastructure are very attractive. The best thing is that the hostels are within the college campus only so you do no have to take tension about going to classes. Mess food is also good and hygienic. They provide mess food 2 times a day and both veg and non veg meals are available. Wi-Fi facility is also available for our studies.

Faculty: I did M.Sc. in Physics and both the UG and PG in university. About the faculty members, they maintain a cordial relationship with students and guide the students to do their exams and practicals in a good manner. They trained everyone to face the exams without any fear and for that they often conduct tests and exams. The course plan of this course are at advance level every important topic are up to date. So I never felt any regrets regarding my course and the knowledge which I have gained from this college.
