What is a Good Score in IIT JAM 2025?
Q: Are there any specializations under Chemistry subject?
Q: What is Chemistry in simple words?
Chemistry is the study of matter; it examines its composition, characteristics, and behavior to determine how these elements alter during chemical reactions. As such, it can be regarded as a subfield of physical science, in the same category as earth sciences like geology, physics, and astronomy.
Q: Is there any scope in the Chemistry field?
Graduates in Chemistry courses can use their skills in a wide range of research sectors, such as Biochemical Engineering, the Chemical industry, healthcare, and more. Because there are so many distinct motivations to do research and so many various settings in which to do so, research careers are more varied than they first appear.
Candidates might work in a university where research and teaching are combined; in a pharmaceutical business where new drugs are developed and tested; or in a public-sector research institute where they can help ensure that the nation's healthcare system keeps up with new findings.
Q: What distinguishes Organic from Inorganic Chemistry?
Inorganic Chemistry is frequently referred to as nonliving Chemistry, while Organic Chemistry is frequently described as the Chemistry of the living. These broad generalisations have opened up countless research possibilities, yet they are not true.
The Arts and Sciences of working with minerals and ores gave rise to Inorganic Chemistry. During the middle Pleistocene epoch, researchers looked into such issues as how to transform naturally occurring materials, such as chert or flint, into tools and how to transform metal ores, many of which were composed of metal oxides, carbonates, or sulphides, into free metals.
Chemistry Eligibility Criteria

Q: What are the skills required to pursue a Chemistry course?
An in-depth skill in the Science stream of subjects is the basic skill and knowledge required for individuals pursuing a degree
in chemistry. Apart from this, skills in complex problem solving, communication and analytical thinking are important for this
course.
Being organized and time management, research skills, maintaining and monitoring records and data is learnt over time by
students. Individuals must also have knowledge in IT and technology to carry out various tech-related operations in
chemistry.
Q: What are the eligibility criteria to pursue an MSc in Chemistry?
- BSc degree: You must have a BSc in Chemistry or a related degree from a recognized university or college.
- Minimum marks: You must have scored at least 50–60% in your B.Sc.
- Mathematics: Some universities may require you to have studied mathematics as a subject in your 10+2 or equivalent exam.
Q: Would opting for a Ph.D in Chemistry at the age of 45 be too late?
In my opinion, it is never too late to start a PhD at age 45. Some I know started even at 50 years old and above although they had done well at undergraduate level and could have pursued graduate studies in their 20s or 30s, had not done so, because of various reasons.
Today many older people, of both genders are pursuing graduate studies at the older age of 40s, 50s and even 60s now. They can do that because there are:
- Greater opportunities offered for people in their 40s, 50s and even 60s, to pursue Graduate studies such as Masters or PhD. Institutions will accept older students, and will also offer scholarships to them.
- There are also more Online offers for Graduate studies and matured-aged students are accepted to enrol.

Q: Why is CUET important?
NTA conducts Common University Entrance Test or CUET for admission to UG courses of central, state, private or deemed universities. Untill 2022, each university had its distinct entrance exam or admission criteria for UG courses. To create fairness in admission process, CUET was introduced. It is common entrance exam for all central universities. Some of the important factors why CUET is important are:
- It gives equal opprtunities to candidates during the admission process. The pressure of immese weightage to 12th marks is reduced.
- Cutoffs will be based on CUET score/percentile ensuring fair mechanism for students.
- CUET puts an end to subjective bias. Candidates can appear for their domain subject exam and get admission on the basis of the score obtained in CUET.
Q: What is JEE Mains 2025 exam date session 2?

Q: Is Chemistry subject tougher to study than Physics?
Deciding which is more difficult to study depends on your personal preferences and strong points. The study of matter, its characteristics, and its interactions with other materials are the focus of Chemistry. Physics, on the other hand, is the study of matter and energy and their interactions with one another. Both a solid grasp of mathematics and the capacity to visualize theories and abstract concepts are prerequisites for physics.

Q: Can I join ISRO after BSc Chemistry?
ISRO recruits candidates for various scientific and technical positions through its annual recruitment drives and also through direct recruitment for specialised roles. While a BSc in Chemistry can provide a solid foundation in Science and analytical skills, many positions at ISRO may require additional qualifications such as a Master's degree (MSc) or a higher degree (PhD) in a relevant field such as Chemistry or Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science.
Q: Is Chemistry difficult or Physics?
According to my opinion, you cannot get an accurate answer for this question as both the subjects have their complexities and challenges. While Chemistry seems easy to understand but difficult to learn, Physics is difficult to understand, but once understood it is easy to remember. So, I believe, you should have a better approach while studying these subjects.
Q: What are the latest trends in the Chemistry field?
There are constant changes and updates in the field of chemistry with the ever changing world we live in, accompanied by discoveries and topics every year through research. Many new trends and topics are expected in the course of study for the future. Research and experimental lab studies are taking place and conducted from time to time to acquire new information on the subject related topic.
Electrochemical methods will be introduced, and some basics related to this topic are already studied in chemistry subjects today, for effective understanding of chemicals compositions and their properties with a certain method that comes with it. Environmental and biomedical monitoring, along with solutions to contemporary challenges in clinical diagnosis, will be a part of upcoming topics and trends in chemistry course of study.
