A comprehensive review of my college.
Placements: Approximately 80% of students from our batch secured placements in reputed companies. The highest salary package offered is 15 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. I am satisfied with good placements, an eco-friendly campus, nightlife, and friendly teachers.
Placements: Around 70% of students got campus placements. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 40,000 per month. Wipro, Realme, and Bharath Electronics are top recruiting companies. Students get several opportunities for campus recruitment.
Infrastructure: 24/7 high-speed Wi-Fi is there. There are high-tech classrooms with projectors. We have high-end lab equipment. We have quality infrastructure. Our college supports us in sports like cricket, football, and table tennis. There is a high-quality mess. It provides tasty food. The hostel is clean with high-speed internet and furniture. There is a spacious hostel. It provided high-quality food.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and understanding. The course is very helpful to achieve a high-paying job. Semester exams are hard. We can crack it by exam-oriented classes. Almost 90% of students completed their courses successfully. Exam facilities and academic support are very nice. Teachers are very supportive.
Other: My course is electrical engineering. It offers broad opportunities. Campus placements offer high-paying jobs. The campus is very eco-friendly. It has a beautiful ambience. It conducts tech fests, music dance, and other cultural activities. Teachers and students are very friendly. Our college has its college. There is a music band, NSS, and other active clubs.

The teachers were really helpful, and the college atmosphere was good.
Placements: On average, 80% of students get placements every year. The highest salary offered was 50000 per month, and the lowest salary was 10000 per month, depending on the position we are working in. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, Sutherland, Wipro, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure available for our course was average, but in some departments, their facilities were very good and advanced. There is free Wi-Fi available in every classroom. The hostel food was excellent, and the facilities in our hostel were average. There are limited sports and game facilities.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful, and they had good knowledge. The teaching quality was excellent. The course curriculum is really relevant, and the semester exams were tough for some subjects and easy for others, but our teachers really help in studies and clear all our doubts.

The quality of this college is above average.
Placements: Top recruiting companies are TCS, Accenture, etc. This college starts placement program training from the second year onwards. So if we don't have any backlogs it is sure that we will get a job right after college. Starting packages are mostly average ranging from 2 LPA to 3 LPA. But after some time and experience, you will get more.
Infrastructure: The course has great infrastructure. They have NBA accreditation right now for CSE and ECE departments. Labs and classrooms are great and tidy. But this college lacks college life. There are not much programs in this college. They are mainly focusing only on studies. If we are okay with less college life and programs then this is a great college. Wi-Fi has good speed but it's limited to 2 GB per day weather we are in hostel or college.
Faculty: Faculty members are great. They try their best to teach students and they would even conduct extra classes for below-average students during internal exams. If we are only focusing on our studies, this is the best college for us.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2028

It is a better college compared to other engineering colleges in Kerala.
Placements: It has a quality placements and career guidance unit. The placement office handles all aspects of campus placements for the graduation students at CEA. It is well-equipped with excellent infrastructure to support every stage of placements process. Students have received placements in MNCs like Infosys, HCL, Syntel, Larsen & Toubro, UST Global, CTS, Mindtree, Oracle, Tata Elxsi, and Wipro, through the placement cell.
Infrastructure: Our hostel food is very good. We take care of our own mess, and I cannot guarantee other hostels. The canteen is average. It does not have good sports facilities. The library section is very good. It has a lot of books available. Labs like chemistry do not have enough space.
Faculty: Some teachers are excellent at teaching. The syllabus is based on the KTU syllabus. KTU aims to prepare students for real-world challenges by interacting with practical projects and collaborations with industries. The KTU APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University syllabus is generally considered to be quite tough. Many students report that it requires a significant amount of effort to achieve even a passing grade, due to its extensive coverage and demanding nature.

Solid Education but Weak Placement Support
Placements: Unfortunately, only about 50% of students from our course were placed through campus recruitment. The highest package offered was 6 LPA, the lowest was 2 LPA, and the average package was around 3.5 LPA, which is quite disappointing compared to industry standards. The top recruiting companies were limited to a few mid-tier like TCS, Tech Mahindra etc with a notable absence of top-tier companies. Only 40% of students managed to secure internships, mainly with smaller local firms. Companies included some startups and smaller IT firms. The roles offered were predominantly junior positions such as Trainee Developer, Junior Analyst, and Support Engineer, which did not meet the expectations of most students. Overall, the placement scenario was not very promising, with limited opportunities and subpar salary packages. The course needs significant improvement in industry connections and better internship opportunities to enhance student prospects.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our course is below average, with unreliable Wi-Fi, outdated labs, and classrooms lacking modern teaching aids. The library's limited collection of relevant books often hampers our studies. Hostel facilities are substandard, with cramped, poorly maintained rooms and poor food quality in the mess and canteen. Additionally, medical facilities are inadequate, and there are minimal sports and recreation amenities. Overall, the facilities need significant improvement to provide a conducive learning and living environment for students.
Faculty: The teachers were somewhat helpful, but not all were equally qualified or knowledgeable. The teaching quality was inconsistent, with some professors being excellent while others lacked depth in their subject matter. The course curriculum is moderately relevant, but it requires more updates to truly make students industry-ready. Semester exams were of moderate difficulty, not overly challenging but requiring consistent study. The pass percentage hovered around 70%, indicating that while passing isn't extremely tough, it does require effort. Overall, I would rate the academic experience a 5/10.
Other: I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because of my fascination with technology and how electronic devices function. This field blends elements of electrical engineering and telecommunications, offering numerous applications and innovations that influence daily life. It also presents strong career prospects and growth opportunities. The course is particularly beneficial due to its hands-on labs and projects, which help bridge the gap between theory and practice, and its innovative nature, as it is constantly evolving with technological advancements. However, I would appreciate improvements in areas like updating the curriculum more frequently to keep pace with technological changes, increasing industry collaboration for better internships and practical experiences, and enhancing support for extracurricular activities related to electronics, such as hackathons and tech fests. Additionally, events and fests provide valuable exposure to current trends and networking, a diverse campus crowd fosters idea sharing, good connectivity is crucial for research and communication, and a well-maintained campus environment supports both academic and personal growth. Scholarships can alleviate financial pressures and dedicated support for extracurricular activities can further complement academic learning and skill development.
