Great college for core branches and students who are really passionate about engineering.
Placements: About 80% of the students are being placed at either core or non-core companies. A great percentage of core placements are reported, and it is one of the highest in Kerala. Core companies like JSW, MRF, Ashok Leyland, and Annora instrumentation have given placements, and the average is above 6LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fair. Not excellent, but it has adequate facilities like Wi-Fi in college and hostel. Library facilities, and well-equipped labs are available for all courses. New hostels are being built to accommodate more students, and gradually, the infrastructure is also being developed.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified enough, and they have completed their studies from premier institutes of the country. Faculty members of our department are very friendly and are always available for help. They provide us space and time for non-academic activities and projects.
Other: If you are focusing on the KEAM exam, GEC Thrissur is one of the top colleges under the Kerala government. It has a huge alumni network, which helps us gain a lot of opportunities.

Placements are good, but campus placements are decreasing in the coming years.
Placements: Out of 100, only 25% to 50% of students get placed. The highest package is 10 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA. When I come to the college, they say TCS and other big companies recruit, but now I see that startups are being recruited instead. Only about 25% of students get placed in a year, while others go for higher studies due to a lack of placements. The top roles in the course are very few, and activities in college life are also limited compared to other colleges.
Infrastructure: Facilities in the college are good. The infrastructure is also good. The hostel food is not good at all. The Wi-Fi provided in the college is not useful on mobile phones, but it works through Ethernet on laptops. The college has a past incident of food poisoning in the hostel mess in 2019, though I am not aware of it at the time of admission.
Faculty: Faculty members are okay, not very good. Only some of them are trained, while others are recent graduates. Teachers are helpful, but some are not very experienced, which creates problems in lectures. Semester exams are moderate, not very easy or very hard, but they have some complications.

Some faculty members are egoistic, while some are very well behaved.
Placements: In my college, around 7% of students from my course get placements. The lowest package is zero rupees if a scholarship is earned by the student. The highest is around 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are some local companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities include good computer labs. As labs are one of the key places in engineering, and a well-organized library is also provided by the college. Strong Wi-Fi is provided. Since the college does not have enough range for some SIM cards, Wi-Fi is useful.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, but I feel that while they are qualified on paper. Their teaching methods or techniques are not as effective. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are quite difficult. The pass percentage is around 82%.
Other: I chose this course because I think there is scope for AI in the future. My campus has good fests, a good crowd, and good surroundings.

College is good enough but not worth the money and needs improvement in arts.
Placements: Placements in our course are average. They are not as high as claimed. However, the college mentions that almost 30–40 percent of students get good IT or core roles. Most offers come from mass recruiters or lesser-known companies. Many roles are support-based. Students usually arrange internships on their own.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good with maintained classrooms, labs, and a good library. The Wi-Fi works but is spotty at times. The hostel facilities are below average, and the food quality is poor, rated 3 out of 10. Basic amenities are there, but the overall hostel experience needs improvement.
Faculty: Faculty quality is average, about 5 out of 10. Some teachers are helpful and knowledgeable, while others are more concerned with getting through the syllabus. The curriculum and exam pattern are better, around 8 or maybe 9 out of 10, structured and manageable. Exams are moderate and still good.
Other: Campus life is good enough with a friendly crowd. Fests are limited, but activities are good. Though not value for money as it is expensive.

Beautiful government college of Kerala.
Placements: The placement of the CSE branch at my campus was better than other CSE branches of private colleges in Kerala. The numbers were not that good but if the skill set was available then students could go up to a 15 LPA package. The basic package was 5 LPA. The common recruiting companies were TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, etc. The roles offered were cybersecurity head, marketing head, etc. The internship programme was better for CSE.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here had recently improved after the lockdown. The Wi-Fi was available but had different speeds in different places. The computer labs were good but there was a little shortage of computers. The library had more than 10,000 books as they say. The quality of the mess food in the hostel was good but the girls' hostel has better. The canteen food was delicious.
Faculty: All teachers of my branch were well-experienced and soft-spoken. All teachers were either PhD holders or research giants. The course curriculum gets updated according to the Kerala Education System. The semester exams were next to tricky and it helped to improve the inside knowledge of the students. The pass percentage was above 83 percent.
Other: The visiting area near the campus was very beautiful because it is in Kerala. All tourist places here are extraordinarily beautiful.

Good college, but it needs better placements.
Placements: I think around 40% of students get placed. The lowest package is around 2 LPA, the highest package is around 7–8 LPA, and the average package is around 4–5 LPA. About 70% of students get internships through our course, but I do not know the exact companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in the college. The infrastructure of the library and classrooms are good. Facilities are also good. The quality of food is better compared to other institutions. Medical facilities, ambulances, and care rooms are available. However, the sports and games support system is not very good.
Faculty: Teachers are theoretically knowledgeable and helpful, but some staff members need improvement. The curriculum is a little tough, and I think it should be made clearer so that it can help students better. The semester exams are not very easy, and since many questions come from notebooks, only about half of the students pass.
Other: I chose this course because I am a little interested in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The best thing about this course is that it is a core branch of engineering. I think the practical section should improve.
