Offered by Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University

Review of Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organisations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If they're a CS student, they will face immense competition. For core branches, placements are severely dry. Students become eligible for placements in the 4th year onwards. Some of the recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika, and a few others. Every company offers jobs to around 10-15 selected students. The highest salary package ever was 15 LPA, and the average salary package was 3.2 LPA. The percentage of students placed is only around 15%.
Infrastructure: The college and university buildings are nice, with good architecture. Machines and equipment work fine, but they're old. Hostels need repair, but they are nice overall. Students will not face any problems in the hostel. The annual fests here are Tarannum and Youth Fest, PTU, held around October and November. The library is vast and full of books. Students can find almost all related books in the library. Sports facilities are good, equipment is readily available, and a sports meet is held yearly. Hostels are good and affordable. Students get what they pay for. In the 1st and 2nd years, you get a triple-sharing room. From the 3rd year onwards, they get your single room. Every room is equipped with a table, chair, cupboards, and a balcony. Any electrical faults are fixed quickly and efficiently. The mess menu is diverse, and you get different items every day of the week.
Faculty: The teacher-to-student ratio is around 1:30. Faculty members are experienced and knowledgeable. They know their fields well, and their academic performance reflects this. It varies across different branches, but overall, some senior teachers are generally good to interact with. The curriculum mostly matches that of other colleges or follows the guidelines approved by AICTE. There are also open and departmental electives. Overall, the curriculum is good and aligns with competitive exams.
Other: The per year fee is Rs. 95,000. It includes Rs. 4,000 as examination fees, Rs. 70,000 as tuition fees, and the rest is for student funds, development funds, etc. The one-time registration fee upon admission is Rs. 3,000. Upon admission, students have to pay Rs. 5,000 as security money, which is included in their first semester fees and is refundable upon completion of your course. Additional document charges of Rs. 500 are applicable in the last semester. Some students receive a Tuition Fee Waiver based on their JEE scores, which waives their entire tuition fee. Additionally, the CM Scholarship is available here, which halves the tuition fee. For SC students, they are eligible to apply for the PM scholarship, which covers their entire fee.

Great hostel life. Great infrastructure. Changes are needed in placements and management.
Placements: Placements are honestly very poor right now. Only small-scale companies are coming, and there is a severe lack of mass recruiters. Only students with immense skills in their respective fields have chances to get placed.
Infrastructure: The college and university infrastructure is nice, with architecture enriched by Sikhism. The apparatus, machines, and tools in labs are quite old, but they still work. Hostels are also quite good. Students will get their money's worth in the hostel. Although hostels are old, they will receive facilities you deserve. The hostel environment is good.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-experienced and knowledgeable in their fields. Most of faculty members are senior professors with significant experience. They come from reputed organizations as well. The curriculum is similar to that of most colleges, as approved by AICTE. Exams are conducted strictly here. Sufficient study and knowledge of the subject are enough to pass the course. It is not very difficult to pass the course.
Other: This college had a strong reputation in earlier times. The core branches were well-reputed. The alumni are big names in their industries. The college crowd is mostly local, so it is not great, to be honest. It feels boring and repetitive for all programs and functions here. There is not enough diversity to mention.

Average college because placement and hostel facilities are not good.
Placements: 30 percent of students were placed in our course. In my presence, all packages—the highest, the lowest and the average—are the same and all are approximately 2 lacs per year. The top recruiting companies in our course are AMNS, SUBROS, MARUTI SUZUKI and sometimes MAHINDRA. 70 percent of our students got internships in our course.
Infrastructure: If we talk about facilities, there are not good facilities for students; wi-fi is available but only for teachers; classrooms are good; and we can also say the library is good. The quality of the facilities in our hostel was also not that good. The quality of food in hostels is that they used to serve boring food and if sometimes they served good food then they gave limited. There were hardly any facilities, like medical facilities or sports.
Faculty: There are some teachers who are really helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was just awesome. Yes, this course is relevant. The semester exams at this college are neither easy nor hard. The passing mark in every subject is 30. Students must have at least 30 marks in every subject to pass.
Other: I never wanted to be an engineer but I chose this course because my father recommended it to me. The best thing about our course is that anyone can do it after completing 10th grade. I want to improve my course so that it is easier to complete. There are no events, fests, or campus crowds, but scholarships are given to only local SC students and not other state students.

Every student gets good placement in well reputed and renowned companies.
Placements: Our college places many students. Some are from Bihar, but most are from Kashmir. The lowest package is less than INR 1,20,200, and the highest package is between INR 1,30,000 and 1,40,000.
Infrastructure: Our college has good facilities, including labs, libraries, and sports grounds. The hostel facilities are average, and the quality of the food in the mess is sometimes average. However, the medical facilities are awesome, and the food in the canteen is above average.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is good. This makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are very difficult, with a minimum of three pages and a maximum of seven pages. The passing percentage is around 70%.
Other: I'm considering pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharma) degree. One reason is that I want to help people. Pharmacists help patients feel better, heal faster, and relieve pain.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh University.
Placements: Fees of this university is 30000 per year. Per semester fees is 14000 rupees for OBC category, and for SC there's a schoiarship of 90%. Placement is 100% in this university.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. Exam pattern is good and invigilators are very strict, so there is no chance of cheating. About 1% of students fail in the exams. Wi-Fi is present in labs and libraries, and a yearly charge is taken for this.
Faculty: Curriculum of this Maharaja Singh University is good . Proper schedule of the topic is given for the subjects. Exams occur 2 times in a year; in a semester, you can clear all the exams to be promoted in the next year. Semester exams are not very difficult; you can easily pass.
Other: Tauraunm fest is occurring in the university. We are very excited to see this fest every year. Every student has to give 500 per head to go to this festival. We really enjoy this every year.

I am satisfied because our college has a good value for money compared to other college fees.
Placements: About 20% of students get placed in the B.Pharma course every year. The highest salary package offered in this college is 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered in this college is 1.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Zeiss Pharmaceuticals, Cipla, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Lupin Pharma, and GoMax Pharmaceuticals.
Infrastructure: Our college provides average facilities for students. The infrastructure of our college is good. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel and college. The quality of the food served in the mess is average. The mess charges Rs. 3,500 per month. Our college provides medical facilities. A small dispensary is available. Our college provides an ambulance. It provides facilities for sports like football and cricket.
Faculty: Teachers of this college are helpful and qualified in their respective courses. The teaching quality is average. The course does not make students industry-ready. The passing percentage of this college and course is 50%. Students have to score 50% in each subject both practical and theory.
