A: 

Manipal University admissions are completely entrance-based. Except for a few courses, where candidates are selected through the merit obtained in their last qualifying exam or by qualifying for Department specific tets for the respective courses. Apart from that, for courses like BBA, MA, BTech, BPharm, etc. candidates must appear for Manipal Entrance Test (MET), followed by other selection rounds. Q:   How can I get admission in Manipal University for BTech?

A: 

Manipal University offers BTech course via Manipal Institute of Technology. In order to get admission to a four-year BTech course at Manipal Institute of Technology, the first step is to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates who passed Class 12 in the Science stream are eligible to apply for this course. Manipal BTech admissions are completely entrance-based. The Manipal University conducts Manipal Entrance Test (MET) for the selection of eligible candidates for its UG & PG courses. It's mandatory for candidates to qualify for MET with a valid score. Further, the selected students are allocated seats through a counselling process.

A: 

Manipal University's Department of Manipal Institute of Technology offers a four-year BTech course. Those who are seeking admission to BTech course are required to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria as per the course requirements. Candidates who passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as main subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology or any technical vocational subject are eligible to apply for this course. Q:   What is the MET application fee?

A: 

MET application fee has to be paid online by the candidates to successfully be registered for the entrance examination. For candidates belonging to the General Category, the application fee of MET is INR 600. All candidates will have to pay the MET application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment will be accepted by the authorities.

Candidates can apply for the course of their choice in online mode. To fill an online application form they are required to visit the official website and fill application form. The step-wise application process for Manipal University course admissions is mentioned below:

  3. Click on ‘New Application’ and register with the basic details.

Q:   Is the MET syllabus similar to the 12th standard syllabus?

A: 

Yes, the MET syllabus is similar to the 11th and 12th standard qualifying/board examination. Since the entrance examination is prepared to assess the candidate's knowledge in Physics Chemistry Mathematics and English the topics to be studied will be the ones that the candidates have already studied in their 11th and 12th standard. Therefore, the candidates will also be able to simultaneously prepare for their 12th standard qualifying/board examination and MET.

Placements: See, as I’m in the first year, I don’t know much about the placements. The number of students in the fourth year is currently less, so the placements will be 100% this year. If we talk about the package and all, they say they are getting about 8 Lacs as a median package.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is good here, as the mess is very different from the other college messes. Usually, in other hostels, there will be non-veg like twice a month or thrice a month, but here in Manipal, you get non-veg thrice a week and the food is also healthy. It’s not like the food is unhealthy and all.
Faculty: The faculty here is good. The teachers here teach well. The labs and all, they do it very carefully. The examination system over here is good and well. Like, it’s basically good for the students, as the students can’t cheat in the examinations, so they would have to study hard to get good grades.

Placements: A good percentage of students got good placements in my course, and every year many companies are available for placements like Amazon, etc. Every 4th semester, we have an internship program, which is a must for 2nd-year students. This will help you learn about real-life business activities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and the campus are amazing, with all types of sports facilities, a clean campus, places to chill and chit-chat, and every type of sports facility available. You can access it anytime. During the day, the food in the mess is also healthy and good.
Faculty: The faculty members are amazing. They’ll assist you with anything you want, and you can contact them anytime. The curriculum makes the students ready for real-life business problems they’ll face. It’s not difficult. You’ll have two exams per semester, one for 20 and the other for 50 marks.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in business. The best thing about this course is that it makes you ready to get into a business or start one for yourself. A lot of management events take place.

Review of Manipal University Bangalore.
Placements: All the students will get placements. We were the first batch in MAHE Bangalore. Now, we are in the third year, and the internships were good but not in the core course. Almost everyone will get internships. However, many students have dropped out of our college due to a lack of faculty teaching.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is highly developed. It's like a private company, and we can develop more creativity in our college. The food was good, and the college was under construction, not fully done. They provided fully-equipped sports facilities as per the player's performance.
Faculty: The faculty was very poor and not capable of teaching, and the faculty in our college was changing continuously, so we couldn't study properly. The exams are conducted online using tabs in the exam hall, making it difficult. The exam paper was challenging as well.

Certain faculty members were really helpful and is understanding.
Placements: The placement cell is fairly active and brings in a good number of opportunities for students. The average package is around 4 lac. Some of the companies that visit the campus are Delloite, HP, Infosys, LTIMINDTREE, and SAP labs.
Infrastructure: The campus life was exciting, and there were always lots of events happening. The student life was good, and there were numerous extracurricular activities. The hostel facilities were good, and the hostel was quite big with spacious rooms. However, the food was not good, which was one weakness. The hostel had friendly dogs, and the best part was the hostel cafe.
Faculty: The faculty at my college were very good and helpful to the students. They understood the problems and needs of the students towards their studies. All the faculty in our college were well educated. There were three exams in every semester: unit test, mid sem, and semester, which were conducted by SUK. The students who were serious about studies got good scores in exams and did well in other things like placement hackathons and projects. Some students even became university toppers and rankers from our college.

The infrastructure of the college is excellent .
Placements: As I am a first-year student, I don't know a lot about placements here yet, but placement is good. The placement ratio is also decent, and various companies like Tata, Wipro, and Infotech have come here. I am in my 3rd year, and I have seen that there are various internship opportunities based on campus. I have also seen companies visiting the college off-campus, and the campus gets good results.
Infrastructure: Onerios is held in the even semester of the year, usually in the months of February or March. Onerios is the cultural and main event of the college. The sports facilities of the college are also very good. There are more than 100 clubs, which are run by students under DSW.
Faculty: The teacher-to-student ratio is approximately 100:1. The teacher-to-student ratio is not too good because there is no connection, as there are many students from background areas, so there is a lack of communication skills between the teacher and student. But teachers are well-interested and have good communication skills. They also want many students to approach them, but students are not likely to do so. The latest tests are conducted in a very good manner. Also, there is no cheating allowed in the examination hall. Students remain silent and are not allowed to take anything into the hall. There are also many quizzes taken in the examination on the chapters in the college.

There are ample opportunities here.
Placements: The placements are okay with roles like that of a research scientist, healthcare educators in various institutions, and physiology instructor as well. The average placements rate was somewhere around 80% and the highest package offered was that of 9 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are newly made with all the kinds of amenities related to audio-visual aids are available. There is a Wi-Fi facility available which is a bit slow. The hostels are in good conditions along with the wardens being good. Regular cleaning is done in the hostels to ensure hygiene.
Faculty: The curriculum is nicely crafted and various important topics are covered with a strong emphasis on Human Physiology and the application of those principles in health and disease. The exams are a bit tough, you need to study hard to pass the exams. Generally, the 2nd and 3rd semesters are tough.
